Soil grow or hydro grow woes

I also have the same gh drip system and I used successfully but i also ended up building my own DWC setup using a small tote with holes cut in the top for the net cups to sit in submerged halfway, clay pellets as the medium a pump and air stone in that and had much more success in growth than with the drip. The drip I found would splash off nutrient solution on the lower branches and just toast them. The DWC setup is working great for me. And I did it for under 10 bucks. Just had to buy the pump and airstone. Good luck with everything and happy growing.

@Growba-Fett
Thanks! I noticed that splash issue also

You’ll see that I’ve been changing things all the time.

I grow in promix and I can’t say a bad thing about it. I’ve been using it for close to 10 grows

Any time
We can get into more of a discussion about it
When your ready
Peomix comes in compressed bushels
And is around 30-40 $
I planted 14 plants in various size pots 2-7 gallon one bushel
If using a ffof type soil it would cost hundreds to do the same

Exactly I run a hybrid aero/dwc pretty simple I have a cheap little timer that sets in 15 min intervals rather than a constant mist pump sprinkles roots 15min every hour. This is more since it generates heat in res if run constant but allows me benefits of both systems 1/3 of water on fills and roots in bottom get good air from air stones while top 2/3rds get NFT can absorb air directly as well as nutrients which are misted on them in fine film

Thank you @TDubWilly!! That’s the answer I’ve been looking for:wink::v:

One thing nice about being in s timer is if you have to leave town or b away a day or 2 everything will in theory keep on going like it should. And you can b gone and not have to worry if your plant are being fed unless of course a mechanical failure which is always a possibility

I’d really like to try an ebb and flow system but need to do more research before I attempt the build.

I’ve also been interested in that same system. They use one at my grow store to grow veggies in the store and it seems to work awesome

I gotta say, you’ve all have been so helpful!!
I love this site and the people who make it great!
Once I get home I’ve got a lot of i fo to transfer into my notebook!
Keep it coming:green_heart::sunglasses::v:
And, I think I’m leaning hydro👍
(Thanks to @TDubWilly for the clarification on the drips)

What kind of water did you use?

I use distilled or I will recycle the water out of my dehumidifier

Define a shot (I’m an ex drinker. What I called a shot some people called a 1/2 pint :thinking:)

Good morning to all and happy Monday!
I just placed my order for new seeds and I’m wondering, what’s the difference between this and my current drip system?

In a 10 gallon pot o put a whole shot glass in it and mix it all up. It tells you on the bag how much per gallon usually. I think I could put more in it but it’s just what I do !!

One has a drip ring and huge net pot GH and the other is just simple DWC but in essence price is biggest factor drip rings are easy to make.
