Skywalker first grow

Good to know. So when would be a good time to transplant? Wait for a few more nodes?

Nodes and see if any roots are coming out the bottom, also see how she’s looking, vigorous ideally but if she doesnt look overly so then let her go a bit longer. I personally dont like to touch em more than I have to so I go from sprout medium (in your case the puck things) to solo cup and from there to their final home. You’re good the way you’re doing it.

My first grow I shocked almost all of them twice, transplanted too early, from cup to 1 gal pt to 5 gal pot. got rid of the 1 gal transition. Nowadays I grow mainly in 1 and 2 gal pots, but I still get my ass kicked here and there w ph

yeah it’s definitely funky. and they were two different seeds. can’t remember who else has one going but theirs is going straight up too. really hard headed and difficult to train. but made some nice big colas.

I like it. so, full disclosure, everything puts me to sleep. but this is my go to strain that I hit right before bed. i have to start the clock because i have about fifteen minutes before I’m done. i’m not the best weed reviewer. i’ve found i need to do sativa CDB mixes in order to get what i think is a regular person social high. kinda like getting drunk off O’Doul’s lol.

i’ve found that when i grow plants that i plan to transplant, it’s easier to do them in clear solo cups with a red one on the outside. that way you can pull the outer cup off and see the roots. when that cup starts getting full, it’s time to transplant. i’ve transplanted too early many times and they’ve been ok, but safer when the root ball is better formed and the whole thing doesn’t fall apart in your hands when you move them. these days they go right into their final pot, but those days may end when space becomes limited.

 :joy: :+1: Totally get it and funny as hell, forgot about O’Douls lol. Yeah if I need to speak its best to lay off the indicas, I dont have the mental fortitude for that lol.

Exactly what I did my first go round! Lesson learned.

@BenKenobi420
This is just an example of the clear cup, cut slits down the side for easy removal, this cup sits inside a red cup. Disregard the root mass, this has been in there a while but you get the idea

Oh damn! Look how tall that is in the solo cup! Thats awesome! Makes me feel better. Was thinking that i had to transplant into a bigger pot soon but guess, like with every aspect of growing, patience is a virtue

Awesome! Solo cup from sprout to harvest??

If you want, could also be a clone.
Look at the rules at the beginning of thread, they’re Very Strict   :v:

Never cloned before, but definitely planning on trying. These are the first 2 seeds ive ever planted. Id love to see how far i could stretch them before i plant the next 3

I hear you, but cloning is relatively easy. When you do your first heavy defoliation you may use some of the lowers if they are deemed interfering w air flow circulation, they can make good clone candidates.
When you’re ready give a shot, you’ll like it. Good back up also

Ideally I’d like to start a couple clones before im ready to harvest so that i can keep on growing after harvest time.

IF you have the funds, I highly recommend an actual cloner. you can easily make one out of a bucket and the right air pumps but you can buy them for $75+. for a year i just did things my own way and I finally sucked it up and got a cloner and i can’t believe i put up with my own headachy methods for so long. I had a 95% success rate from my first round and there’s almost zero effort. trubocloner looks like a winner. i got the psycloner, only because it’s all that’s been available lately (covid problems) and it’s ok, but i can see where having a nice sprayer at the bottom is worth it.

got the tag for the solo challenge, thanks! i grow in super soil so not sure how that would work out… going to try a SOG soon in 2 gallon pots and that may be cutting it.

They’re really enjoying the new light. I can see all kinds of new growth within just 48 hrs.

@BenKenobi420 just caught back up, and in case the mystery isnt solved yet, those spots you asked about last week were water spots. The lights “burn” the water drops like a magnifying glass would. Notice in the pic before that post you can see the droplets and your spots match up perfectly. I try to keep my leaves dry and if I do get water on them, I just wipe it off and no issues. Also a good rule of thumb in transplants I learned here was when your plant is as wide as it’s container, it’s probably transplant time. Looking good so far man!

Judging by your rule of thumb i guess its time to transplant! Thanks for replying. The water droplet burn makes sense as they were still under a dome so it probably dripped on the leaves. Dont see any spots on the new growth since removing the domes

Going to transplant into 5 gallon fabric pots later today. I’ll post pictures during.

Transplant complete. Judging by the roots Im guessing the timing was right too. Hopefully they’ll be happy in their new homes!
