So no 5 gallon ? I’ve read articles where 5 gallon is perfect for larger growing autos. I think 5 gallon would work great still without that crappy nutrient soil i used.
Oh, no 5 gallon is fine. Most people use 3 gallon for autos.
consider that if you x plant again it will be 3X transplanting autos. I think that you will have a lot more success starting fresh. Getting a plant all the way through its life cycle is a huge committment. You want to be set up for success so thats my .02
there are resources from successful growers here on recommended soil mixes that would be good to check out. Do a search function…
Well guys. I started 2 new seeds with the triple mix above (perlite, vermiculite, and organic peat moss) with Zero nutes, plenty of breathing air in solo cups with drain holes. So pray for me for my yellow plant. I actually think she will grow well now. Was VERY gentle with roots and excavation of the plant. Some people said trash it which I probably should have but let’s see if I can bring her back to life. It would make a hell of a story and grow diary for my first grow lol. Any other ideas please tell me ASAP. I’ll be transplanting when it’s time, to a 3 gallon airpot unless someone has better ideas. Thanks !!!
She’s got a nice root system there. Good luck!
No way would I scrap any plant that isn’t dead. That plant is healthy and the roots look great.
The one thing I would suggest is pick something and stick to it. All the changes are not great for an auto. With that said most likely all it will do is slow it down or stall it out. Better than trashing it without trying.
As far as hot soils go. I put my seeds directly into a mix of NFTG #4 and Vermifire and they sprout and grow just fine and don’t need nutes for a month and a half.
If a seed starts in a certain soil it will USUALLY acclimate. It’s like feeding spicy food to kids. Start em young and they will be eating bushels by adolescence.
Good luck. I think watering is your issue. They like to go dry in between waterings but not seedlings. They prefer to b moist all of the time.
She’s got some good roots for a seedling so there’s hope
IDK if you’ve named her but I think Kali might be a good one
Lets see how this turns out. In my humble opinion with an auto in your situation its going to be interesting. Would be great if you had another bean you could pop in an track the growth even after a late start i bet it would quickly catch up and surpass.
And it very well might. But watch what happens in the stretch. I would b willing to bet this one could and would monster the other one during flower if manipulated right.
A huge mistake newer growers make is thinking what happens in veg dictates what happens in flower. It doesn’t. Some plants get a minor stretch and can b manipulated to have even a smaller stretch. Others (autos included) can triple their size in the first 3 weeks of flower.
Also if u ride out an issue in veg until it’s fully recovered u just hi stress trained your plant and probably increased its yield. An auto can b manipulated not to flower on its schedule. U can’t hold it off forever like u can a photo but u can for sure elongate the veg period through nutes and timed training.
This new guy looks very healthy, and the transplanted one doesn’t look too bad. You did a good job on her.
Great job on the save you’re just misting it with a dome?
The new one looks good good luck on both
She back in business ladies and gents. 5 gallon to solo cup transplant. Zero nute peat moss soil with perlite. And a few mist sprays of big bloom Fox farms and she’s up and at them ! I’ll update later as well And the baby I just planted is trying to catch her lol
Excellent! Great job.
Cobgrats on the new baby girls! Good job with the transplant. Thag root system dis look great! She will explode soon hopefully.
Hey all. I’ve heard really good things about using 5 gallon grow pots / buckets for autos. I am about to buy Air Pots / Air Grow bags tonight. Just need to know the best size. Firstly, confirm that Air pots/Air bags are good for Autos which I’ve only heard good things about them (allowing extra oxygen in, best drainage, etc.).
Secondly, shall I get the 3 gallon for final home or go with the 5 gallon air pots and let these baby’s roots Flourish possibly beyond what they would in a 3 gallon ? Let me know soon. Ordering tonight. Thanks all.
