Should I start doing a pre harvest flush on this plant?

Hi All,

Looks like with Coronavirus it will take me 2.5 weeks to get a 420 Scope through the mail. I have a plant that from the pistols looks like it’s getting close. About 50% orange. I would like to do a pre harvest flush and I am wondering if I should start now or wait?

What strain, Seed bank, or bag seed: White Widow AutoFlowert

Method: Soil w/salt, Organic soil, Hydroponics, Aquaponics, KNF: Organic Soil FF Happy Frog

Vessels: Pots, Grow beds, Buckets, Troths: Pots

PH of Water, Solution, runoff (if Applicable): Soil PH 6.7, Water 6.4 Runoff: 6.6

PPM/TDS or EC of nutrient solution if applicable: Bergmans Flowertime Nutrients

Indoor or Outdoor: Indoor

Light system: Mars Hydro TSW 2000

Temps; Day, Night: Temps Day 75-78 Night 75

Humidity; Day, Night RH 40-52 currently

Ventilation system; Yes: 6"inline with filter

AC, Humidifier, De-humidifier: Humidifier, Dehumidifier NO AC

Co2; Yes, No: NO

Lots of white pistles still showing. Do you know how long they have been in flower. Looks like they have at least a couple weeks before you should start straight water possibly longer.

Same question as @Bulldognuts when did it first start forming pistols?
I don’t know much about autos. But from appearances, you have at least 2 weeks before I’d flush. Then two more weeks before harvesting.
Looks like she’s growing nicely.
There are a few magnifier apps you can download to get a better view of the tricombs. Not perfect, but might help you out while waiting.

Because I dont have a lens either and never checked trichromes before, this may seem like a dumb question, but couldnt you just use a regular magnifying glass?

You have 3 weeks plus until mature. I would wait until pistil production has fallen off. Make sure you have a P, K boost in that Happy Frog to help bulk the plants.

They are White Widow Autoflower. Have only been in flower about 4 weeks.

Do you have the name of any of the magnifier apps please?

Have one, not enough magnification to see the trichomes.

Yes, using Plant Booster plus Flowertime Nutrients this week and next. Then pure water flush after that.

A magnifying glass typically gets 2x - 5x magnification. To get a real view of a tricomb head, people use a jeweler’s loop. They give 60x and sometimes 90x.
I downloaded “magnifier plus hd” and got this picture. I took several before I got a clear shot.

Awesome, I will check that out. Thanks!

Hi MFis410!

Quick Question for you: I have been using the Bergman’s Plant Booster plus the Flowertime Nutrients in the last water. PPM went in about 1050 and came out 1770. Is this too high? Last thing I want is Nutrient burn at this stage. Thanks!

If this is a plant near harvest you should be down around 600 or 700 ppm and tapering off. 1,770 ppm runoff is high for media but not bad for soil.

It is soil and and i estimate I have about 3-4 more weeks.

@trog this is one of the first white widow autos I grew on day 101

Yours has a ways to go

That’s a thing of beauty

I am not sure why in the Bergman’s harvest guides it says to harvest when 70-90% of the pistils are red and the lesser white. Yours seems to have 0% white pistils left. This is totally confusing and left to my own devices with that guide i would have harvested WAY TOO EARLY.

Beginners luck. Yours is fantastic looking if it is only 4 weeks flowering. Tough to tell with autos but very nice. Compare the pistils and you can see what @Bulldognuts is talking about.
I have a couple scopes I like this Carson Micro Brite 60-120x

You are not kidding. This one that I posted above is way out in front of her seedling sister. I believe out the 4 plants I have 2 are expressing the indica aspects of the genotype being way dominant, short, stout, quick to flower. The plant I showed is about 1.5 ft tall. In the pic below, the plant behind almost touching the light is about 4 ft tall and looks barely 2 weeks into flower and seems to have strong Sativa characteristics.

Thanks for the scope recommendation.

That tall one must be a twin of of one that I grew. I tried bending the main stem over, heavy wire and tied with pipe cleaners. I tied parts of to the tent post too. I have 7’ tent and she ended with in foot or so of the light. The buds were long and thin ![IMG_1800|333x500] (upload://28fgvKf0expRVSaLINbDB5VcvFM.jpeg) . You want to even out the canopy as much as possible. One suggestion. If you can raise the shorter ones they would very much appreciate it and the buds won’t suffer for lack of light. They need as much light as they can get right now. Something like a milk crate works great image
