Well I think it’s root rot but I’m about to transplant find out . The fan question was for a regular fan not for a carbon filter fan I just figured since the carbon filter was at the top I should have a regular fan over the top of the plantS
Have the regular fan blow on the top of the canopy @Fever
Repotted with fabric pot ffof at base with perlite mixed in then a layer of mykos and the roots didn’t look that bad (not grey or root rotish) I didn’t water it because I did yesterday. Also I trimmed the bad leaves and it smells like ganja again (not that rotten smell from before)
@TxGrowman @Majiktoker
Right on! Ill be watching for further updates good move on not watering
Great ! Sounds like a good start. I think you will like the fabric pots. They breathe and really drain well. Will be waiting for updates also !
I would not waste time trying to re-veg a plant that big. If this turns out to be an environmental issue due to smelly soil; I would not want to spread that to another area. It is your choice but, I recommend flower her and being done with that plant. Chalk it up to being a valuable grow lesson ![]()
@latewood your advice makes me think kill her but then again not. If it’s environmental which i totally think it is,it will affect all my plants eventually.
If I met her flower wouldn’t that affect the others if she hermies? Or since they are all female there would be no chance of poelen contamination?
@peachfuzz @Majiktoker @latewood @Paranorman @garrigan62
I don’t n ow if it’s
- humidity
- Heat
- Poor air circulation
- Root rot
No clue and it’s happening right before I go to flower.
What changed? Going to a tent is what changed.
How many fans do you need? Does a carbon filter count as a fan?
Does a intake without a fan (ducting) count? Or do I need a dedicated intake fan?
Something is killing my plants and I don’t know what it is. It’s not reverting since I technically never changed the lighting schedule on these.
What happens when I wake up and look in the flower tent and see another one heading down hill?
The whole reason I got a tent was to make
things easier to manage and it’s turning out the opposite:- Humidity is usually too low and yet this morning it shot to 90% (?)
- Heat is out of control but I moved the sensor to the front of the heater so it is more sensitive
I know I should have patience but patience seems like it will kill my crop
If I add an intake fan I’m going to have severely low humidity, if this is an air circulation problem then how can I get both circulation and humidity in the winter?
I am very confused
it’s an issue of balance. You seem to be running on extremes… too much of everything. You need balance…
Seriously @Countryboyjvd1971 if he has a sec he can explain balance and negative pressure to you and why that is important
PS Take a close look at that plant. A very close look. Through a magnifier or a jewelers loop or whatever and make sure you don’t have any bugs or mold or something else growing.

@Fever what do you have for fan cfm of intake and exhaust
Do you have a box fan or other type also in tent ?
22-45 cfm for a 44 cf tent. I have humidity of 30-35 am I doomed?
They want to grow as my ph and nutes are great I can tell it it must be something in the roots as I can’t find any bugs
Could it be fungus gnats? I don’t see anything but can they live in the roots?
Thinking I should transplant today like I did the other (fabric pot + mykos)
Check these out may be able to help
@Hawkeye_diesel ya beat me to it again !
Only because I have no life haha
Ok thanks @Hawkeye_diesel and @TxGrowman I am thinking there could be some nutrient deficiencies. Maybe these plants are hungrier than the rest? I give no nutes just calmag so perhaps my ffof has done all it can? They are almost 8 weeks old. Looking at the symptom checker it could be a combination of copper and some other deficiencies (curling leaves can be copper). So I’m thinking:
- Transplant the latest problem plant into same size but fabric pot with a layer of ffof and perlite and mykos on the bottom
- I have a veg nute I never use that has a balance of all things they would need. Maybe just give it a big dose of ph water with full strength nutes?
Thoughts?
Fill.out a support ticket as well
First dose of nutes should not be full strength. I would go with 1/4 to1/2 strength for first dose (closer to 1/4 than 1/2) and see how she reacts. Next feeding increase the nutes slightly and watch.
My motto for nutes “Start low and go up slow” might save you a burned plant at the start. Jerry
Yeah don’t give them full strength, unless you want more problems. 1/4 to 1/2, is what everyone on here does for starting out.
