Short compact plant

The plants are still in their seeding mixture and are healthy. I have not transplanted them yet. I am still testing the soil in the pots that they will go in. I followed the organic soil mixture for beginners and it has been cooking for 6 weeks. The rapitest soil test is showing 6.5 for ph and potash is good. The nitrogen and the phosphorus levels according to that product is off the chart. Above N4 and above P4 for phosphorus. I flushed the soil (5 gallon pots) with 5 gallons of Reverse osmosis water. Waiting for the results. I don’t know what to do. The plants are doing well in their seedling soil and pots so I have a week or so until I need to transplant them. I have to make sure that they go into a soil that is balanced. I hope you can help me. I am assuming that I screwed up the ph and potash by flushing but I can fix that. I just can’t figure out how to fix the N and P. Thank you so much for your help, Jayne

Phosphorus is immobile in soil, as nitrogen is mobile and can be flushed, which means with that being said they will take up less zinc and iron, try and lower the ph in the soil, and get a reading of it. Lowering the ph may be able to bring down the levels in your soil and allow you to make proper adjustments. Lower ph to about 6.0.

Although, heads up, with having high phosphorus levelsand nitrogen levels you do not want to add any fertilizers, and me personally wouldn’t advise using nutrients however if you do to keep all other nutrients stable make sure they are lower in phosphorus and nitrogen, so maybe some thing like cal mag with something has only potassium, as well as maybe a vegitative food that has a lower phosphorus and nitrogen level than potassium. Usually in any other case your supposed to have higher nitrogen than phosphorus and potassium, In your case your soil is enriched with phosphorus and nitrogen.

Please keep me updated and let me know how it works

I will give the cal mag a try. that basic organic soil link is way off. I followed the recipe to a tee and it is so out of whack. When I add the cal mag do I need to wait another month or is it something that I can use a few weeks into transplanting. thank you, Jayne

Epsom salt is fast reacting or you can order some the bottle says CaMg+ on it and youd use 1 tsp. However the difference between Epsom salt you’d use 1/4-1/2 tsp per gallon of water and see results within 24 hours, CaMg+ will take atleast 24-48 hours to notice the difference, so about 36 hours average

Thank you I have Epsom salt. I flushed on pot with soil and it lowered the phosphate and the nitrogen. However, now the nitrogen is lower than the phosphate which is not good for the veg stage. I will have to test the ph and see where I am with that pot. What exactly will the Epsom salt do? Will it decrease the phosphate? Or will it just increase the Calcium and Magnesium?

Epsom salt will flush all toxins out of the soil and will help balance all toxins in the soil. I see we are making some progress so that’s a great start. Epsom salt can also be used for the substitute of magnesium and sulfur, and works faster than CaMg+.

No need to worry that nitrogen levels are lower, that is because nitrogen is mobile in soil (can be flushed to lower levels) phosphorus is immobile in soil so it is harder to flush out (almost impossible) however that will and can be fixed when your little fellas hit the new soil, it will just take some adjustments. As for nitrogen, I’m sure a nutrient base with a 2-1-6 level will help the nitrogen with out messing with phosphorus to bad

My OG Kush will require more Epsom salt than other strains so that is really good to know. So with the Epsom would I be able to mix it with water on the plants that are already in their pots. I went ahead and planted two root-bound plants and amended the soil to raise the Nitrogen that was flushed. Now the soil is higher in N than Phosphorus. Potassium is lower than the N. And the PH is right on target. Will see how they do. The funny part of this whole thing is that I used Proven Winners premium potting soil and added bat guano and removed the timed released fertilizing balls and then planted some seeds that I had from street pot. I just soaked the seeds in water for 24 hours and then planted them 1/2 inch in the large pots. That was about seven weeks ago and they are huge and growing a 1/4 of an inch each day. They are 18 inches tall with lots of branching at each internode. I am setting up my flowering room and plan to move them in a week or two. I purchased the entire line of advanced nutrients for flowering. I am looking at three females. The other ones are more than likely males so I will see if I am right. I will remove the males and dry them in another building. A lot of people throw them away but in the past, I have learned that they can be pretty good quality. Anyway, I have worked myself to death trying to get this organic mixture perfect and the proven winners is so balanced. Thank you again

Yes you can use it as a foliar spray, just lightly mist if you do

thank u all is good

Your welcome, happy to be of some help and little fyi, males produce seeds and females produces buds, hermaphrodited plants produce both seeds and buds

Yes they do. Can’t really be sure until the beginning of flowering.

Usually that and the stature of the plant

Hi @ktreez420,

I’m in my first grow, growing Blueberry as well. I’m about to switch my lights from 18/6 to 12/12 to enter the flower stage. Do you recall how long your bluebuerry was in flower before you harvested?

Thanks!

10 weeks I believe, I can check my journal though!
