Sf4000 plant per light

Hey everyone. Just had a quick question so I know how many lights I should plan to get and about when.

So currently I’m running 10 plants (8 auto 2 photo)under a single sf4000. Yes I know, I know. Way too many. But the oldest is only 1.5 weeks old and my set up allows them to have maximum light possible through the one while being trained towards the center of the light but still in pot.

I eventually am going to have 12 plants due to legal limit and plan on buying more lights.

My question is how many lights should I get? 3 or 4? It says it can cover 4-6 plants in a grow tent but I’d prefer to not squeeze 6 adolescent and older plants under 1 light.

Should I do 3 lights 4 plants each or 4 lights with 3 plants each in the end?

When is the latest I should get my second light?

Thanks for the advice!

I would mark out a grow area in the 8 x 20 that you’re going to use. I calculate a 2 x 2 or 4 sqft per plant using topping and LST to keep the plant within this area. If these are photo periods and you’re going to veg them longer than 6 weeks the grow space per plant will need to be increased. I factor 40 watts minimum to successfully flower to harvest a plant, vegging plants around 25 watts per sqft. This method has worked well for me :love_you_gesture:
