I really enjoyed watching the buds form, grow, and mature into really great smoke …hahaha…pistols are the bomb!
I have a question here, which is preferred:
- SOG
- LST
- Natural growth?
When answering think of
- Not needing to max out product
- Experiencing the process is the main objective
- Being able to repeat the same processes
- Reasoning behind each process preferred
These will help further my grows and processes to maintain a product of good to great high, then output, then onto different ways of utilizing the plant and its fruits.

I prefer LST. Can open up the plant to maximize her production. Scrog is my favorite way to LST but can be cumbersome during watering times.
SOG can produce a lot in a short time but instead of watering and feeding one plant, you are doing so to multiple plants.
Edit: oh this is autoflower. I’ve only grown one and did light LST on her but she grew more naturally than anything. Haven’t tried other methods on autos yet

I’ve never done a scrog as of yet…this was the first time really doing LST. In a 3 x 3 tent, with a 1200 watt led light. Would doing the scrog with two plants be beneficial? Doing more would be hard on me…

It would, but you’d want a separate net for each plant. It basically involves topping the plant. Setting some netting at a desired height and letting the plant grow into it. Once the branches get a few inches above the net, tuck them back under the net and move them over a square, working your way to the outer edges.
So there’s no real guesswork in which branch should be tied down and when. And you don’t have all these lines tied to your pot that can get in the way come watering time.

@anon8491196 I always liked LST. Opens it up for better airflow better light penetration more buds. I was doing the trick before I ever knew the correct term for it.

Well @anon8491196 … I think you know what I like. #1 is LST, just as @kellydans stated above. Great way to open things up to allow more air flow & light & multiple bud sites.

Its difficult to run a proper sog with autos, so I wouldn’t really worry about that. I think best suggestion I have is to play with different bending methods and see if you feel there are certain things that appeal to you.

I’ve started another photo plant. The Bianca, she’s been planted since 10/8…I know autos are limited timing and not much time to work with. I’m trying to decide if I want to continue with the LSTing that I did with this WW auto and apply it to the Bianca plant or plant another to scrog with the first.

I am with @dbrn32 for a sog. Autos get to big to do that imo. I scrog every thing. and run 2 plants side by side in the same scrog. I just have it at 24"x48". You will want at least a 24" square. I like lst but it can take up as much or more room than a scrog. I will look to see if there is any one on this side I recognize that is here often enough to show you how to do autos similar to Sam. He is a wizard at doing trained autos. In a 3x3 I am going to say it may be tough to do more than one plant. just my take as all my autos take up a minimum area of 2’x2’ I know most don’t like topping autos for those that are new to autos. but in a 3x3 it is almost a must with your light. 3x3 tents are not very tall.
If I was doing this. I would either do one nice sized plant. Or try 2 with a scrog. And that would still be tight. This here is 2 small blue dream autos side by side in a 4x4 tent. They are taking up a 2x4 area. Both were topped and had light lst. I use a viparspectra 450 over each one. my lights were as high as I could possibly get them and that is with a 80" ceiling height.
So my thoughts are. if you are not worried about yield so much as learning. I would do one auto in a 2x2 scrog. It would be easy on you and you should still get in the 5 oz range. more if you choose the right strain. I have 3 autos up coming that will all be in scrogs. I can show you a pretty good picture to give you an idea when you would want to top if interested.
This should give you an idea why I am saying one plant. This is, or was in my 3x3. I figure better to be prepared for what could happen as to telling you to try to many to start off with.

This may be a good place to start in mats journal. For watering with my scrogs. i use a plastic transmission funner to get down into the canopy. makes it easier to do for me. I am all about making this as easy as I can as well.

It looks good to me. I keep my tent at 61 at night. Days are around 75 now. My plants like the cooler nights from what I have seen in the past. I keep a heater in as well. it is set to come on at 61 and off at 66. The humidifier will help keep heat in the tent too. Things are looking good for you
