Luckily I found a metal saw blade laying around. My house is full of tools and shit, so I started with just a knife and realized it wasn’t working well. Found the metal hand saw blade, and knew right away it was the better tool to use. Smaller teeth on the blade is what you’re looking for. And make sure your bulbs are plastic and not glass. Some are glass that have a plastic lining.
Good look on that heads up lol I’m going to check for sure lol that would be a trip to the hospital
Update on Green Tea Day 24 - Week 3
She’s started to flower! Finally! She stretched for a full 3 weeks until she started to flower! She’s taller than the Blueberry Clone B, and has just started flowering, sheesh! Tomorrow I’ll need to do one last pruning, because she’s gotten so tall.
Wow! She’s about to take over.
Very nice looks like you got a tree in there
Lol she really is a tree @Brian091180 it’s awesome! From placing the SCROG on, the branches and stem are already so strong and thick. They literally look and feel like tree branches lol!
@Aquaponic_Dumme the Green Tea is the plant I’m talking about. From using the SCROG and removing it, the inside area has lots of growth that is clogging it up. What’re you thoughts on removing some leaves? This would be my last chance to do so because she just started flowering and I don’t want to stress her after today.
Update
Yesterday I did the pruning that was badly needed for the Green Tea girl. And as a disclaimer, no fan leaves were hurt during this prune! Haha normally I would, but I’m trying something different based on some info @Aquaponic_Dumme has bestowed upon me. I only cut new growth that was either too small, too low on the canopy, or just wasn’t going to produce much. I’d rather the energy go into producing massive colas.
Guys. Wow. The amount of clones I could have created is incredible. At least 50 chutes/branches were cut. I did clone about 5 of the nicest branches that I cut. She’s in flower, so that’s 5 monster cropped clones, and oh boy do I love the growth from monster cropped clones!
Here are some pictures. These are pictures taken before I did the prune.
And here are pictures from AFTER the prune below.
Still looks like a tree even after the shave and haircut!
They don’t call me “Treez” for no reason! Haha no I’m just kidding, but my friends have always called me treez as a nickname.
That a reference to tree hugger? Lol
Lol well yes I do identify with the hippie culture, but the nickname was actually given to me because I used to smoke and sell throughout middle school and high school. I was the first kid to be smoking, not to sound like I’m bragging lol, but at the time it was the craziest thing to my friends so they donned me as “treez”. Weed has always been a part of my life, and it always will be part of my life.
Nice Scrog and I wish I had space.
Question on it how bare do you try undergrowth and do you maintain it through harvest?
I’ve been wanting to jump on this thread for a while because I take my plants at three foot tall and shove them into scrog but it’s only 18 inches high and I compress and smash everything down and tie everything down for the three week stretch by then I’m overloaded with pretty flowers so you’re not the first to do it but you’re explaining a scrog in the best way, most people tend to think they’re plants need to grow into the scrog, I believe in taking my plants and bending them down into the scrog so that way it stretches into the net and yield doubles … Much luv for ktreez…
With the under growth you definitely need to trim it, and maintain the trim.
There are two main reasons for this, one being that the undergrowth simply won’t get enough light to grow up into the SCROG. But, with that being said, when you first start your SCROG you don’t trim any of the undergrowth, but instead you give it time to grow up and into the net. It’s how you get such a big yield.
The other reason this is done is to keep a nice air flow under the canopy. But mainly because once your branches grow up into the SCROG and you can’t bend them or tie them down anymore, that’s when you’ll want to really trim away any excess growth. The canopy truly does block the light if done correctly, and the undergrowth just simply won’t yield much of anything worth the energy.
Any other questions I’d be happy to help!
And @peachfuzz I really appreciate that dude, thank you for the shout out!
@ktreez420 awesome and thanks
I have little, little grow area for now, plant that I lst’d and now pulled through net and don’t know if too many shoots coming up and if they need to be cut so colas get bigger. There are about 20 head coming up in a 16x16 inch area, I need to make bigger space, is that too much for this plant. Also I didn’t top any of the plant.
Again thanks
Is vic gone dude?
Yea dude, got suspended for a year. I have his number though so we still talk.
You can definitely make it work!
Are you on now?
Yea what’s up
