Hey Randy, Im sure youve seen planty of dark-eyed juncos around. What’s with their aggressive ground behavior, lol? I see them beating the 
out of leaves and other yard debris all the time. The other day, I swore that one was trying to bash a snake or something. It was really getting down

Juncos are ground feeders. They love to pick up the seed that messier birds like Cardinals drop. Juncos like my yard because I am trying to grow a prairie garden and there are many grass heads dropping seed. I’m hoping to be attracting some native sparrows.

Thats awesome! No shortage of folks around us that have mothballed the irrigation systems and are returing their yards to native prairie. Still nudging my bride to consider it for our property.
