Rpgrower and the assembly line

Well I just about lost all of that. I’m not sure who fixed it for me or if somehow I did it but I thought it was gone. Nothing like taking a bunch of pictures and then losing everything. But I edit so much cuz I hate mistakes. And when I run out of my edit time it won’t let me back in so I have to hit the x and when I do I lose everything.

Yes I’m starting in new cocoa and perlite. Some of my other stuff was just getting too dense so I decided to start with some new and fresh on the seedlings and my clones that I’m doing

Did you prep the coco? I can’t remember this early what they call it. :face_with_spiral_eyes:

@Dforce I’m not exactly sure what that means. I did make the bucket of cocoa a few weeks ago. And I only used enough water so that it would dry back out pretty quick. But I didn’t add anything to it other than just rain water and perlite. I’m using a clonex and Cal mag solution for watering. Very low ppms between 2 and 300. Seems to be working well on the chupacabras but not so good on the others.

@Crazy81 good morning my friend and thanks for all the help. I didn’t realize I still had to buffer the cocoa. I always buy Coco that’s already been buffered. I sent Dforce a picture of it I don’t know if I can send it to The forum or not.

@Dforce well thank you for all the help. I had heard something about having to buffer the coco. And that’s why I was buying that they’re on Amazon because they claim it’s already been buffered. And all three of the chupacabra done well in it. But none of the Cantavas. However the clones seem to be doing okay so far too.

Buffering coco coir is the process of treating it to address its natural tendency to bind with certain nutrients, particularly calcium and magnesium. Raw or unprocessed coco coir contains cation exchange sites that can bind to these nutrients, making them less available to plants. This can lead to nutrient deficiencies in your plants if not corrected.

Coco coir is soaked in a solution containing calcium nitrate and magnesium sulfate. These elements saturate the cation exchange sites, displacing excess sodium and potassium, which are naturally abundant in untreated coco.

After soaking, the coir is thoroughly rinsed with water to wash away the displaced sodium and potassium, as well as any residual salts.

test the electrical conductivity (EC) and pH to ensure the coir is ready for use. The ideal pH range for buffered coco coir is around 5.8-6.2
