Hey ya we put in a 10x20 greenhouse this year but even with a fan and vents it just gets too damn hot. The humidity doesn’t go over 65% in there but just too damn hot. Maybe I’ll try a Fall run in there?
Looking for guidance. So I’ve cut down all but one of my plants. Probably averaged maybe an ounce per outdoor auto plant. I know that’s low though. So anyhow, I had the same problem as last year. The buds did not tighten up. Kinda airy. I mean if the buds were tight I’d have double what I got.
I realize the humidity and the irregular pouring rain then 95 degrees probably didn’t help. But my first grow, when I was even more clueless than now, I used a drilled out 5 gallon bucket and all Fox Farm instead of Jacks and I got tight buds and 4 oz off 2 plants.
I have never grown an outdoor thst was tight. If autos then the have the ruderalis genetics thst also cause them to be kinda spindly.
Yeah but is weird because the seed banks say that the outdoor yield should be more than the indoor? So an auto will get tight buds if it’s grown indoors?
In my experience yes. I think the indoor lighting and environmental control are playing a part in it as well?
My guess is that the grower will find the answer in the DLI for the grow.
Some years tomatoes do not get a good start with days and days of overcast clouds. Not much you can do about it.
Also a weak IPM outdoors can mean low production in food from insect stress.
Constant high humidity means low throughput for water from a low VPD.
Lots of things cause outdoor issues.

I would agree with you brother on the DLI. We live in the woods and probably don’t get enough direct sunlight like around 9 hours. This year I had no insect problems. They migrated toward the new garden.
I can tell though by my tomatoes getting a little leggy that they need a little more sun.
Most likely it’s the sunlight
