I have used both an only in one place was the well water a problem, you can also set a trash can outside an use rain water if you like

Only time you should have to buy water is if tge clorine lvls are high…i used a trash can with window screen over it lol an i always mix nutes then ph…most nutes will change your ph if done last
I would recomend buying an exstra 5 gallon bucket from hardware store an when you change your water just do it in spare bucket an transfer net pot over rather than juggling your girls around

Ok good to know…one more question on the LED when u say 300watts is that the wattage it says for the light ? I was very confused about the wattage it is using vs what the box says it is when people were talking about that.
Yes thats the description watts not actual watts coming from the wall
To find out actual watts you can buy a dill that plugs in to the wall an plug your lights in an it will tell you what it draws
Just the 600 watt mars2 in the middle was enough on my girls to give good dense buds i just have the exstras to see if there is any difference this go round if not i will put those back into another grow space

Do you use the clay pebbles in your net pot?also have you had any experience with the pots that flood and drain? I am a little scared of the deep water and was thibkibg of trying the flood drain pot to get my feet wet…so to speak.

to find out how much actual growing room you have …start with the total height…subtract for a 5 gallon bucket, lights and hanging gear. That will tell you how much actual vertical grow space you have. Most plants will double vertical height when switched to flowering.
Some prefer a DWC=5 gallon stand alone buckets with aeration
If PH or NUTES get out of whack…easy to change ALL 5 gallons and correct problem. I prefer over soil/grow media for ease of monitoring the vital levels. Harder to do with soil/grow media. I put fresh hatched seedling in rockwool cubes when tap root is 1/4" long. Once roots show…it’s transplanted to a clone bucket with a 2" cloning collars with 2" cages till the roots are 4" long. Yes…2" phase is JUST the seedling and the soft foam cloning collar, no pebbles. Roots take off much faster not pushing tru soil or pebbles…then into a 5" cage with clay pebbles and on top of a 5 gallon bucket. Be very careful taking the plant out of the 2" cage…best to do it in a bucket of water. Dun tear the delicate roots off.
Btw…when moved to 5" cage, 2" cloning collar stays on the plant for stability and safety.
Peachfuzz has a unique wet/dry grow system. He uses a 3 gallon bucket for plant and it sits on a 5 gallon bucket with nutes. The 3 gallon bucket has soil. He waters from the top until the roots grow down to the nute solution. A little complicated, but, he shows great results.
Dun be fraid to ask questions. We like to throw out opinions out. Yours to do with as you please.
Remember, each grow is a new adventure. And…a learning process. Best advice I can give: learn to read the leaves…AND…it’s CRITICALto get a PH n PPM Meter set. $20 online.

WOW …both you guys are great!! I love the play by play that helps me I am a first you then you type of learner! I think I might cut the bucket and I am goibg to re look at tents tonight . I have not bought anything but I keep putting things in and taking things out of my shopping cart!! Lol now I am going to have to revamp once more!! Best to get that part as right as possible to start! ThAnks again for the info both you guys have really made a difference in what I was thinking!
Most wanting $6 for black buckets. Lowe’s sells them for $3.
First thing to get is PH n PPM Meter set $20 online. just don’t drop em in water…they die quick.
