There is a old lime quarry in the Inverness National Forrest that you should look up next time you are down there it is a bit of a hike unless you have a dirt bike but worth it . We used to go a couple times a year when I was a kid . Forty foot ledge to jump from road swings and private . From the ledge the water looks black but clear when your in it looking up and you feel amazing from all the minerals in the water when you get out .

@Oldstoner after last year this summer is bad. It still in the 90’s on January 6. This was the worst I’ve been in since moving here in 94. Winter was 3 weeks the plus it seems to have killed off those love bugs

@Givemefire well the love bugs while I’m sure they have a place in the eco system but I used to hate the way that you have to wash the car daily or risk the paint being etched by them . Today is supposed to be 97 here . So it is still hot but we get a much bigger break from the heat in about two or three weeks we will be 70s to 80s

Thank you so much for the insider info! I’m always looking for cool places to visit, so I will DEFINITELY check that out next time I’m down there! I’ve down so many cool things in Florida that I couldn’t do here in Pa. Seeing manatees while kayaking was one of the coolest experiences by far!

I’m using my photography studio lights reflectors. The plant looks so different in person.

Duh. A photography reflector. That’s the dopest dope light on earth. You should get an award for that.

Those little 300w LEDs are great lights for grow and if you add some extra warm CFLs you can flower too really well I was surprised.
I have one over tomatoes and chilies and I get fruit most days all winter.
2 in a 3’x3’x6’ tent works very well but for that $$$ you could build a very good cob based LED light use half the power for twice the light.

@Iva
Nice. I’m going to use clf’s too, then old box I’m going to grow carrots. I’m going to make a salad bar and grow spinach and leaf greens.

I’ve got the bug. Maniacal laugh…
Now back to your regularly scheduled program

Okay well I’m completely new to all this and just hope my little 1000 watt full spectrum led will be okay . That was my first question on the forum . For a 32x32 how much light will I need I was going to get a 600 watt hps but soon realized the heat would be ridiculous and someone said that a 1000 watt led would grow nice buds in such a small tent . Now I’m wondering if I will need supplemental lighting ? I hope not I have spent to much on this already .

@Oldstoner No I don’t think so. I have 300w led and I’m going to ad 4 clf’s. Not a lot. I will get another of these LEDs and cover this closet. Oh it’ll be nice

have a look at the COB LED thread I think these will be the new standard in the future
More efficient and more light, no need for cooling fans so less wasted power.
Add uv, uva and infrared and you almost have sunlight.
just over 250W replaces a 1000w hps with only 250W of heat

@Givemefire thanks I was hoping it would be enough . I have a small 35 watt led that just screws into a regular socket like a flood light I think I will stick it in there also just in case it would help . I’m now struggling with trying to get my humidity up the most I can get is 50%

Well I guess I have reached the maximum number of likes I can give in one day it just told me I had to wait 7 hours

@Iva thanks for that the led I bought Does have a IR and UV hope they do okay

You should consider a HID light. Cheap, reliable, and truly proven to give awesome results. The added heat may benefit you, if not now, definitely in the colder months. Any savings on electric bill for LEDs, will be lost very quickly if you heat an usually unmaintained part of your home. Just seems like you have an ideal setup for HIDs, and I don’t see the benefit of searching for a LED by a quick read of your posts.

@Blountville thanks I might look into those for the next grow . My basement is finished and the grow tent is in the media room so it runs at the same temp as the room we just like the a/c at about 72 or 73 and the basement runs about 5 to 6 degrees colder so when the light in on the tent runs between 75 to 80 and 68 to 70 for the 6 hr Dark time . Okay the edit @Blountville thanks for directing me to that thread on lights wish I had found that earlier it answered pretty much all the questions On lighting that I had . I think I need to add more in the blue spectrum . Amazon has a few single spectrum lights for very cheap thanks again for that suggestion

Thats good what light are you using ?
After using LEDs I will not go back to hps its just so much cheaper to run
Less cooling
Less venting
More resin (I think, It looks like it)
Less power wasted for cooling and for the light its self
This is a big win where I live we pay 33c per kw and not being able to work over all cost it important not to mention the environment damage generating power here via coal does.
I have a box of hps and mh setups I got over 15 years ago not sure if leds will last that long though (wish I could sell these with out drawing attention to my self)
