QB 132 DIY build. In progress Join in follow along

Yes both the drivers I have are not in the tent. I try to keep as much out as possible. Even my exhaust fans are mounted outside the te tent.

I am definitely one of them people! DBRN was going to walk me through a light build and the only part that worried me was making the frame. I don’t know how to cut aluminum so I was sort of stuck. So after fretting over in a while I just broke down and bought one build but I might try to build a veg light for my little tent if I can get someone to help me with the framing

You can cut the aluminum with a decent pair of snips.

For the framing? I thought I would need some kind of a saw

You can tell I’m such a girl LOL

Nope cut all these with a cheap ole pair of snips. It tweeks it a little but I just laid it on the concrete and hammered it back in shape. Super easy to work with. I also suggest tap screw as well. Makes it super simple. No you can use a saw but the aluminum I got is super thin. Works well though

Well thank you I didn’t realize that so maybe it’s not as hard as I’m making it in my mind LOL

@dbrn32 @elheffe702 Thanks man! How far you think I should keep the little ones away? I am at about 28” now.

I’ll let @dbrn32 answer that for you. I haven’t used those lights yet. I plan to build several once I set up a new grow space.

I think it will work well 2 plants in a 2x4 area though. I am pretty satisfied with it.

I like it alot great job. Thanks for taking your time to share it with the community.

Here is what it cost me.

The Driver plus tax of course.

The QB’s

And about 30 bucks at the hardware store.

So about $250 i was able to put it all together. Just for reference my HLG 320 XL ran 470ish plus tax so I think it’s a super win!

@Parents12

Thanks it was a fun project! Happy to share here!

Nice job! 28" probably fine if you have turned up a smidge. Just keep an eye on your plants really. With lights high and domes on they may want to stretch a little, in which case you can lower your light some or turn up power.

That’s a good deal . All you need buy a few seeds once in a while you’re set for a long time. Good luck with your new setup

You should build 3 more, think big. You’ll be happy with how your light work.

Good deal. Thanks @Jbum I just hope this thread doesn’t turn into a bunch of clutter. I’d like to read a thread that is about building a light and nothing else
