I’m gonna be asking y’all questions in a day or so, after I speed read a bit.
Well roughly 3 weeks in on my agar test jars, not speeding thru it but solid progress
And roughly 9 weeks on the Ms grain bags and 1/2 pint jars
Got all plates in fridge till I get a little further along, then will try more testing. This time will use Brf pucks rather than full jars, hopefully speed up the process a bunch

What’s the temps with your jars and bag?
Temps have been on the low side , around 70-74ish probably around 66-68 at nite, it’s just now starting to round the corner and get a bit warmer here, north east just can’t let go of 20°f temps 
. So I figured that’s not helping me much but it looks healthy so far

Very nice. Mine have been trying to colonize for 5 or 6 weeks and nothing yet. I just haven’t taken the time to throw them out yet.
Did a live tissue inoculation of the broth. Two of the smallest pieces of the inside of a mushroom. Dropped it in and wow. I’m happy with the looks of the lc
I just looked back it’s been 24 days since I dropped the tissue in the broth. Can see back 22 days ago the 48 hour growth.

Second to the last picture, I happened to see a little something in the corner of the grain bag and zoomed in and yup there’s a bit of “myc pee” metabolites so the myc is a little stressed, possibly a slight contamination issue or moisture problem with the grain will keep a close eye on it, hopefully still pulls thru fine. At least I know why it’s moving so slow although it could still be more about genetics as these were noc’d up with mss, gonna break up the other bag tonight mix it together and see how that one does. getting closer to getting something to fruiting stage 
Ok been getting side tracked here, getting a couple grow tents up and running so been busy but my one grain bag looks all white now and possibly ready to put to bulk next week I’m thinking? My jars , well… they All seem to have stalled at least they don’t look contaminated, suppose to actually warm up a wee bit here in a couple days I’m hoping warmer temps may help otherwise may end up starting from scratch with the jars. Anyway here’s a pic of my grain bags

Quick update, still trucking along watching paint dry 
, one grain bag has fully colonized and I was able to break up the second grain bag which was at about 50% colonization and now waiting for that one to hopefully recover over the next week or 2 , so getting much closer to sending to bulk here soon hopefully 
. Jars are also still waiting seems to be still colonizing although slow? But still no contamination being seen . I’ve got several cultures in the fridge and will have to start playing with them again here soon. Been busy getting a few grow tents up and running, gonna be a busy summer

Temperature and moisture content play the largest role in colonization time. To cold and to wet make it harder for the mycelium to move through the spawn/substrate. Perhaps your grain is too wet, or your temps are to cold or both. Either way no contams appear present which is awesome! When you soak your grain are you adding any gypsum to the water? This can help the grain to dry more evenly when setting up the spawn. Temps during incubation? What about adding a small heat source to your space. A small lamp with a regular bulb in it or something like that? Adding even 5 degrees might make all the difference in speed of colonization.
I must be outta likes, but yes I’m pretty confident that the temps could come up a bit iv been pretty much at the low end of around 68° to 73° , have wanted to try it with out more power consumption as I’ve also got 3 grow tents that can get a bit pricey to run so as long as it’s working out I’m in no hurry
I got this blob. It’s just wanting to start to stretch and touch the top of the water. I think this weekend will be a syringe filling process. Do it in front of the flow hood? I have a blunt tip for putting it in and draw all the 10cc full then go to plastic cap. Save the pointy till inoculation time. I’ll reuse the blunt tip for the entire jar. Everything looking healthy?
Yes, always infront of the hood.
At this point, assuming the jar is clean of contam, I would risk NOTHING. True test of your sterile technique incoming. Sure is a pretty jar of potential you have there.
