I won’t, but I’m sure some friends will
First plant trimmed and put into Grove Bag.
My first trim, what a PITA that was. 3 more to go
Are you catching all the Kief
Nope. Didn’t even know what that was till I just googled it
Wow, ,
Darn Newbie
@Lostgirl TBH, I kinda winged it trimming last night. I did what I thought was right.
Ultimately, the RH in the grove bag was a little low @ 52% this morning. Upon reading more I saw people add fresh fan leaves to the bag, which is what I did this morning.
I have 3 more plants to trim and already dreading it, I HAVE to get those done tonight as I’m afraid of drying too much.
I also now understand why lollipoping is so important as I had many tiny buds. I’ll do better on my next grow.
Get yourself (if you’re going to continue doing this) a trim tray.
This will catch all the Keif. You basically trim your weed on top of this tray then take the trimmings and rub it across the screen and all the kief falls into a catch tray that you can collect it and make hash (very simple to do) or sprinkle it on weed to intensify the high.
I know you don’t personally smoke but I’m sure someone you do would appreciate it (the link above is very cheap price I paid $75 for mine)
This is what you end up getting
Then you turn that into this
I’m on it!
Also save all your trimmings put them in a bag ziplock and put them in the freezer. You can get even more Keif by using these filtration bags with ice. They’re very effective. I get lots of hash off one plant. I can send you a video on YouTube that I did the same thing they did and it was total success
It’s amazing how fast they grow. These girls are 38 days in. 90% of them are already 3 ft tall. Lots of Bud sights and colas. Very happy healthy tent
Nice! I’m looking forward to my next indoor grow and using the knowledge I gained in this first run to see if I can improve my next.
I’m waiting till fall to start the tent up because of the problems I had with the climate control in the garage. I’ll start seeds by September 1. Thinking of what I want to grow.
My outdoor grow is still moving along but honestly a lot of work. We have 2 location in our neighborhood that we’re growing but with the high temps and high humidity, the “feel like” temps around 115 deg AND keeping pests at bay, it’s tough. Seems like I’m watering plants every day or spraying for pests or fungicide. It’s all in freaking do .
I’ve been contemplating on shutting the outside grow down, I’m certain bud rot will be coming when flowering starts (which on plant is pre-flower today). Don’t know if I can sustain them.
On a side not, I will be upgrading to a larger tent for the fall though……
Sounds like you have the same weather I do. Winters are brutal cold summers are the hottest on the East Coast. Street away from me yesterday by 10:00 a.m. it was 107°
I have an outdoor garden. Fruits and vegetables. It’s a hell of a lot of work and it’s daily. So I got your frustrations and hard work outside.
Nevertheless, I wouldn’t even consider an outdoor grow in those conditions. It’s almost guaranteed to get root rot, pest infestation, African shit disease, and anything else that comes with the negative of growing outdoors.
I’ve helped many people that’s spent serious time outside working extremely hard only to have to throw everything in the trash at the end. It’s not for me my friend. I would flip out.
I think last night the reality really hit me. I’m wasting a ton of time, energy and $ to keep these things alive. I was considering buying solar fans to help when in flower and then thought to myself this is crazy.
I know I can control the garage temperature better in the winter, I keep it at 70 deg in there during the winter anyway. I’m investing in a bigger tent and probably will focus on 6 plants with extra room in the tent for additional equipment as needed.
This is the first time in a very long time that I’ve done it grow in summer time. The only reason I did it is at a boredom but I knew my challenges were going to be the heat, even inside. During the day my tent is about 85-90 and that’s with air condition. This particular batch of girls don’t seem to mind it at all and they’re very big so they’re handling it okay. I agree with you 100%. It’s very easy to turn the heat on than it is to get anything out of a damn air conditioning
Got 3 of the plants trimmed and into grove bags. Not a big haul but it was my very first grow.
Plant 1 - 7 oz
Plant 2 - (the runt) 3 oz
Plant 3 - 4 oz
Plant 4 - eh, only the top colas were salvageable. Maybe a couple ounces. Tons of popcorn fluffy buds that will all go to making cannaoil this weekend.
Into the bag all were between 55%-60%. For the lower humidity bags I threw in a live leaf into each to help bring the humidity up over 58%.
A little disappointing but you were with me on my journey, I was headed to 0oz without your help .
Because of you I made it through when I have absolutely zero experience. I now know what to do on my next indoor grow, I know how to utilize my nutes, I definitely will train and lollipop better next time as well.
So, thank you I appreciate the help so much
Congratulations on your haul. It’s a lot more weed than you had 3 days ago
Thank you very much for the kind words as well. It was totally my pleasure assisting you. You’re a wonderful student. You definitely did better than most with they’re first grow as the average is 2 oz if they’re lucky.
When you hit that one plant for the first time that does over a pound you get this feeling inside that’s totally undescribable. I guess I’m lucky but I’ve gotten to the point that about everything I grow is a monster now.
All I can say is keep doing what you’re doing and every grow will get better and better. You Got the knowledge, patience, and you use the best nutrients on the market. Those three things alone are a recipe for total success!
Congrats to you
@Lostgirl
Decarboxylation started. Coconut oil tomorrow. 7g to 1c, correct?
You’re out of my wheelhouse on that one. I’ll have you put the coconut oil on your feet!
