Update #6- the girls are now 6 weeks from solo cup transplant, and 11 days since flip. They are doing well, 2nd net is in. The canopy got away from me this week, the tops stretched alot more then the smaller inner branches. I could stuff them again to even them out but for now, letting it ride. They almost got buttons and for day 11, thats pretty quick. Ppfd is 700-930 depending…

Update number 7. The girls are now 7 weeks from solo cup transplant. They are at day 17 of flower. Surprisingly stretch is already about over. Still struggling to time the top dressing with gaia green nutrients. They were nice and green and started to pale again, and fast. So i bumped up the feed one more tablespoon. Now im at 7 tbsp per 5 gallon pot. Hopefully this will feed through the two week mark. Was originally only planning on top dressing twice for flower, but looks like i will be doing it 4x. Here they are…let me know what you think. I massacred the bottom half of plant to reduce larf. Sure alot of you are uncomfortable with that, but its worth it.

Update #8. The girls are now 8 weeks from solo cup transplant. Day 24 of flower. Ive come to a conclusion that they need 2 tbsp top dress to be sufficient. Wed they will receive 10 tbsp per the 5 gallon pots. This still will only feed for two weeks. Having trouble dialing in the organic nutes. I already know what i will change if i like the outcome. Its frustrating to put alot of thought into this and struggle to keep them fed properly. They still look good, but i was hoping for a smooth run. They are being pushed to the max with ppfd, next week i will be starting to dial back my lights. Currently anywhere from 700 to 970 ppfd. I said i was not going to go over 900, but i got alot of good chunking going on mid tier. So i gotta get somewhat good numbers down in there. All ppfd charts say to hit them hardest week 6, imo that is bad advice. I would always get a bit of foxtailing following that advice. So i will reduce in wk5 or one more week. Afterall, this run is for flavor and terps, not weight. I still believe coco to be much easier in terms of growing style. Never had to wonder if its enough. Just full blast nutes, but i bet when i dial in the organics, it could be just as easy.
Lastly guys, if i dont get any traffic im going to discontinue this journal. I already log it all on paper, this was more for a learning experiment that i thought would get more interest. Data for the community if you will. I will post a conclusion if i do. This is to show they are looking good. Without further ado.

I’ll tag along. I was thinking of doing this experiment side by side this winter, but I think I need to perfect the organic grow for another year for a fair comparison.

Interesting thread, I don’t know how I missed it. Pretty plants. Can’t wait for the smoke report,

Thanks for the tag @Budbrother, if anyone has free time it’s me lol. Looks like you used the entire space really well @Poseidon1. I saw you said you log everything down in a journal but that’s what I use this for. It’s nice when people chime in but I mainly do it so I can have stuff recorded somewhere I can’t lose lol.

I’m set to watch.

I hear you! My first organic style run in over 20 years! Been hooked on coco and jacks for a while. Although i need improvement on the organic skills, it will get me the data needed, especially with clones that i ran for a while now. Welcome aboard!

Ya it does not get traffic, thats why you never see it. I can post a update, and by the time i look, its already off the immediate wall, only to find alot harder. I found this a interesting grow as well. More for the data. Welcome aboard.

Im a data junkie. Im used to it for my job. Ive got binders full of wire numbers and tags for work. No choice but to be thorough, especially in a industrial automation job as a electrician. Welcome aboard brother.

@Budbrother, hey brother…thanks for the invites. Im not very big on tags lol but appreciated. We are all always learning. Ill keep her going just for the interest of you alone. I made a bold move today and top dressed heavy. Dont feel good about it lol, but we shall see! Make or break! Hopefully make bc i miss the good ole flavor of properly grown in soil weed. Hydro is great…but organic taste better…i said it!

Its hard to over do it with organic. Keeping a balance is important though.
Happy to jump aboard :grinning: :v::green_heart::dash:

@GreenJewels Well being my first true organic run, i was being more on the cautious side. Each feed was increased throughout the grow if u were following. Bit of a learning curve. Funny how i needed to double what directions said at half the time recommended for to be enough. 5/8 of a cup or 10 tablespoons per 5 gallon every two weeks seems excessive.
