That still doesnāt tell me what the pH of the root zone is in the pot. You know now those feeds have been going in at 6.9ā7.1 for the last two weeks, so Iād want to know where the media actually landed. Input pH and root zone pH arenāt necessarily the same thing. Iād check what the pot is actually doing.
As for the water running through faster, Iād just slow the application rate down and give the soil time to take it in. Initial bit of water to moisten dry top. Wait 10 min. Water deeper. Waitā¦ A little yucca in the irrigation. I wouldnāt make that into a bigger mystery than it needs to be.
If the two plants are showing similar bleaching, Iād be looking at the common denominator of root zone conditions, irrigation, source water, etc. I havenāt used them and I know they adjust through chelation, but that controls the nutrient solution differently than it controls the chemistry of the actual media
A few grows ago I had a plant (1 of 4 in the grow) that the water ran straight through.
I just let it grow as best it could. After harvest I inspected the root zone only to find that there were very few roots compared to my usual plants and that the soil was mostly hydrophobic and dry as popcorn farts.
Words matter. Not bleaching but paleness/yellowing. Bleaching would show on tops, but Annie is showing it going from bottom up. The very tops are green and the reverse of what I would call bleaching. That to me suggests nutrition and pH
I should have mentioned that my solution to this situation (which I realized that I had experienced before to varying degrees, without knowing) was to get my small concrete mixer for mixing and hydrating my soil before starting a grow. I make certain to fully saturate the soil along with mixing in the worm castings and Epsom salts.
