@Dforce have a bit of silvers in the freezer now, they full tilt here now everyone is hammering them, starting to green up so season is slowing for me.Be putting a few filets on the smoke next week or so! Most is cubed into 1x1 squares for the deep fryer and have a few slabs for grilling, will be a good yr once the venison is in freezer.

Nice, I’m not a fan of dark fish either. I got one this fall that was turning, thats enough. Still fun to catch 
should be good as well. I’ll be up in Manistee this winter for the steelhead. Mmm deep fried sounds good.
I’m pan frying tail cut tomorrow.

They getting ready to spawn, dieing once a salmon spawns it dies it’s life goal, and they get black when they been in the river a bit. When fresh out of or in the the lake they look like polished silver bright.

You can, but no were as good. Better if smoked, and that depends on how dark they are. Some are to far gone.
