Flipped on 12/15. Pistils started showing 10 -12 days later. No hedgehogs till 12/30.

Calling this day 10 of flower.

Sour D

I noticed i split the stem at some point while trainig the branches. Too much pressure I guess. Lucky i didnt ruin the damn thing. Didn’t even hear it. Thought i would have heard a crack or something.

No harm no foul I hope.

Wizard punch:

Way more trichomes, but trichomes just started appearing couple days ago. This one stacking trichs fast.

On week 7 FF feed schedule but think i need one more plain watering first. Ph trending back down again. Ppms 2000 ph 5.8 ish

Pistils on the sour D look like tentacles instead of hairs.
Wizard punch pistils look like what Im used to seeing

Question, if i am on week 7 of the FF schedule, my ppms are 2000ish, but a flush is scheduled for the watering following wk 7, i see no evidence of burn.

should I plain water to bring ppms down, then follow with week 7 nutes then flush? Or should I do week 7 nute watering then follow with a flush as the schedule calls for?

I am seeing some burn on a couple tips in the scrog. Sour D seems unfazed. Not really concerned with burn atm but realizing my ppms are already high.

Pistils should be mostly milky white until pollination or ripening phase(usually around week 5-6 of flower give or take depending on the particular strain.) when they shrivel up and turn darker. A few dark ones here and there is normal, but if whole colas start turning early it can be a signal of a bigger problem.

If your planning on doing a flush in the next few days.

I’d say water, flush then feed or flush now then feed. No reason to feed right before a flush. You would just be flushing most of your fresh nutes out anyway. Girls are looking lovely btw.

So something happened in the spider farmer light malfunctioned again today and it turned itself back on at 8:30 this morning. I didn’t notice the light was on until 2 PM.

Am I now in trouble as far as herming the plants?

Hey brother I had the same thing happen but it was getting half hour to an hour in the middle of the night period for a week, when I noticed there were male flowers everywhere, I harvested over 300 seeds off the plant.
You caught it early so just keep an eye on the lower branches for anything strange, it may not have done any harm too, no telling and nothing you can do but search for male flower every couple days for a couple weeks.

I am so pissed right now. That light has been malfunctioning since the day i got it. Was turning on 5 minutes early when linked and now does this when i attach it to wifi.

If they herm im tossing them. That will destroy my grow room if they pollinate.

I’m calling spider farmer man. That is bogus. Only problems have been with that light, same setup that was losing power to the ggs sensor so i separated the light and still having problems with both.

Lol, calling spider farmer. Yeah right. Guess ill be going with American made hlg moving forward

Today

Last month tracking

Didn’t even know it happened on the 5th.

Where should I be looking for male flower to start developing?

Im taking the 300 w light down today

Does this light have a built in timer or anything like that?

I wouldn’t expect one or two random instances to make a plant herm but I’m sure it’s possible. Watch for formation of pollen sacks around nodes or nanners coming out of flowers.

Yes, se-4500. I can control the light through wifi or have the ggs controller operate it.

It says it loses power and goes to default settings, which apparently is ON! Stupid

Now im thinking i better start a couple autos to be sure i dont run out.

It depends on the individual plant how much stress it takes to force a herm. Feminized seeds are more likely to herm than regs. The more light they receive of schedule the more likely. That being said even if it does herm, if you correct things quickly the chances of viable pollen are lowered and you can still get pretty good smoke.

There are a few things to look for. The most prominent are nanners growing out of the buds. you will only see these on herms.

The other thing to look for is pollen balls which are the male counterpart to female calyx. They will be located at the nodes like a calyx and look very similar, but calyxes grow pistils and normally occur in pairs whereas pollen balls develop in clusters(second pic down) and never grow pistils. It’s possible to get nanners but see few or no pollen balls. Once the pollen balls open and drop the pollen they look like little yellow flowers.(third pic)

Hey brother I agree with @Gl1tch and not stress about it and grow her out watch for the above every couple days for a couple weeks after, if you miss a flower and pollinate it’s not a big deal, just like 70s weed a few seeds, but the weed is good, mine was some of my best weed ever! Hey bro its okay :+1: just keep an eye on her
Oh sorry my friend I don’t know about all the gadgets, I keep it simple light digital timer no more mistakes.

Is that what you are talking about? Or do i need a better pic in light?

Those are calyxes, Note the pistils coming out the tip. Pollen balls will be in the same place but no hairs popping out. The shape is usually a little different too, but that can be hard to differentiate without some experience.

Sweet. Thanks. Still maintaining hope for now lol

Another way to tell female parts from male parts, male parts don’t have any tricomes, smooth. You’ll be fine. :innocent:

If y’all been paying attention i put a lot of effort into making a good environment. Probably too much :joy:

I even used blackout tape on the window cover and even the indicator lights on all the other stuff. For the light to malfunction really aggravates me.

So here are my options.

  1. Put the scrog next to the manifold. Probably just enough room for both.

  2. Put the bruce banner in yet another room for veg and just run the malfunctioning light 24 hours for veg and convert my veg room to flower under the (2) sf 2000’s and let the scrog finish.

My 730w light is 45”x44” the manifold is roughly 32” diameter and the scrog is 24” x 48”

I have a private gym (separate garage). with a bathroom that i dont use. But it gets wicked cold. Light would probably warm the room if it doesn’t malfunction.

I think if I leave that 320w light in that room im asking for trouble.

Can you just swap the lights temporarily while you troubleshoot the se-4500. I’d do a factory reset of all equipment to eliminate any overlapping timers or programming errors and if that fails get a hold of spider farmer for a warranty return. I’ve had pretty good luck getting replacements if I ask nicely.

No such thing when it comes to light leaks. I learned the hard way :face_with_symbols_on_mouth: the indicator lights and displays on equipment will cause problems if they are close enough to the plant.

I just sent them a note asking for a warranty replacement. It keeps saying it lost power and auto reset to factory. And then i start looking through the app and it goes back on schedule, but not until I start looking.

Also, it just did it again, turned on 1 hour before scheduled, same notice, “reset to factory”.

I’m probably running too much amperage with 2 lights and all the fixins. But that light is the only thing not functioning properly. When the ggs unit goes blank, the other accessories operate normally and on schedule. Only thing running now is 2 lights/2 humidifiers, clip fans, and 2 dehumidifiers. But the dehumidifiers only run in dark and humidifiers only run in light.

Also if it was tripping a breaker it would shut off every outlet in that room, but everything else works
