Ya item going to check around and see if I can find this pro mix nere by…I hope. Lol

Thanks Cash, love the brotherhood on this forum.
Late, will the pro mix hp provide me similar results that’s what I purchased and that’s what I plan on using? Thank you. Roger
Hey Roger I was bored and you got me intrested in the difference.from the description it seem to me that the hp would give better drainage due to its high porosity, and also it doesn’t have the bio fungicide in it that bx does, which acts as a physical barrier to certain root rot pathogens and increases root system vigor. So I know latewood will know way more than me about it but it seems like you should be able to get similar results
Cash, from what you just said wouldn’t the BX be better than just drainage. Iem sure the BX will drain as good if not the same with more benefits included.
I hope you dont 'mind me jumping in.
Will
Yea I mean it definitely sounds like the bx is better cause of the bio fungicide, from the descriptions on amazon it just kinda seemed like the hp would have better drainage
Ya, decisions, decisons,dec6ision lol.
By the way my name is " Will " and item in E Tenn. And iem 62 just thought I would introduce myself to ya you seem to be a cool dude and like grow. It’s pouring down buckets and thunder lighting so I figured I would hang out here for awhile. Lol

Hey guys, Roger here I’m 55 live in Oakland and I’m flying by the seat of my pants really appreciate your help. The HP was the only thing available at my Home Depot so I’m stuck with it. going to transplant the seedlings tomorrow. I have another question, I have three clones there two months old I need them out of my greenhouse there in the way of my OG Kush seedlings. My question can I finish the clones in my garage 12 hours light 12 hours dark using just a couple of 4 foot fluorescent bulbs? I don’t want them to go to waste. Sorry to be so needy:)
Roger.
Ps I moved them in my garage so any advice would be appreciated.
We could sure use some of your rain here in Oakland thanks for all the back-and-forth rog
I rarely get email notifications when I get an answer on this thread it’s really a bummer I have to find the email tap on the link to get back to the thread information I’m getting on this forum is invaluable to me thanks again Rog
I know people grow with flourescent lights but I’m pretty much a beginner so I couldnt really give you a good answer
Thanks for the return message I appreciate it have a good evening buddy
Only two 2’ bulbs won’t produce very dense buds, but you could do it.
In general with florescent and HID lights, you want about 50 watts per square foot. With florescent you can get away with a little less, say 40 watts, because you can get florescent lights much closer, and because of the inverse square law of radiation in physics, the intensity of light changes exponentially depending on how close or far the light is away. And with a good LED you can get away with almost as low as 30 watts per square foot because you are not wasting a third of the energy on the green light segment of the light spectra.
With “white” lights, you can use this as a guide to what the plants will need depending on development:
Seedlings and clones require about 400-1000 lumens per square foot.
Vegetative growth requires about a minimum of 2,000 to 3,000 lumens per square foot.
Flowering requires about 5,000 to 10,000 lumens per square foot, ideally, and can take possibly much more.
10,000 lumens is about the average power of the sun at sea level on a clear day at high noon. 8,000 - 12,000 lumens is supposed to be about the average power of the full sun without any overcast or no clouds depending on altitude and potentially other factors.
It’s not ideal, but you can make do with 2,000 lumens for an entire grow if necessary.
Thanks Stoner, I purchased a four bulb fluorescent type light four ft long with led bulbs. Rated at 12000 lumens DNS it will hang just above the three plants. 12 hours dark 12 hours led’s. Needed to get these plants out of my outdoor greenhouse to dedicate the space to new seedlings I’m transplanting today. Using pro mix hp. I hope I make adequate moves to be successful.
Thank you. Attaching pic of the og kush seedlings.
Rog.
Yeah, I’m not sure about that lumen rating. What does the DNS mean?
It sounds like it should be bright and it might work well enough. But how many actual watts does the unit use?
Also those lumens are only at a certain distance and pretty much only right below the bulbs and will drop off dramatically. Just something to keep in mind.
I moved a post to an existing topic: Lights, power/watts, heat and ventilation, HID and LED
DNS is my dumb phone auto correcting me. I meant to type “and” the fixture is four 24 watt LED tube bulbs. I just needed to get the plants out of my way in small green house. I transplanted 12 og kush today. I’m giving a friend the other eight. Can’t believe all 20 of the ilgm seeds successfully sprouted and are relatively healthy. I do have a bunch of tiny flies in the three plants in the garage:( I sprinkled DE in the soil today. I really hate those flies. How much dark should I give those three plants to facilitate flowering quickly? I say this a lot but sorry for so many questions. Roger
Flip to 12/12 that will do it Roger
