Welcome to hydro my friend! Explosions are a daily occurrence!!! Let’s those roots soak it in as much as they want!!! Seems like your dialed in just fine and don’t need any assistance I’m just gonna spectate these final weeks and enjoy watching you reap the benefits of it! Well done great journal and one hell of a set up!
How about those hlg’s!!! Those things are beast when you put 2 in a 4x4
I’ve been slowly creep them up in wattage but I don’t think I’ll ever get them 100% with them maxed out on height with the stardawgs being so tall already. I have a 550v2 in my custom 4x5 and the 288’s blow it away I’m my opinion. I just winged it with the system based upon my readings and this Frankenstein project a buddy has going. I didn’t lay down an nft mat or slab under it and the 6” cubes seem to be holding fine. I’m building the exact same system for the 4x5 so this one can be my auto tent and the other can be my photo.
Like a wiseman once said growing is more addicting than smoking lol
NFT= nutrient film technique
It uses angled grow tanks or totes that run feeding more often and sometimes 24/7 and is drain to recirculate. They most always use an item called a spreader Mat on the bottoms of the tank for growing medium that looks like a coco or fiberglass and that’s how the roots spread and anchor.
Mine is a hybrid system because I used a tote and added matting but it’s essentially an ebb and flow system.
I literally just made it up out of some heavy reading and things I’ve seen my friends make.
Seems to be working so far. Aside from using 4-6 gallons of nute water a day. The upside is it never goes bad.
If it works why not, i made a hybrid dual root zone , aquaponics system, worked out good, but had to give up my grow space,due tp some remodeling, (im a Jack of all trades diy guy) it was a prototype, finishing of the projects for the misses and I’ll be back at it ,this time its gona be permanent. I’ll tag u
When i get started,
I see that thos plastic on top, as a water intake system, i wonder if i can incorporate then in an aquaponics system with timers? If i can it would be sweet i wouldn’t have to water my plants by hand and i have a black soikder fly system that automatically feeds the the fish. Just a thought.
I was running autos in the main tent and just got the last one out and moved the clunky Durban poison to a 2x4 under a single HLG 100.
I built a second ebb and flow NFT hydro system for this tent and now we have 3 critical + 2.0 and one sweet seeds crystal can’t F1. All photo period. Haven’t decided if I’m going to scrog yet but am leaning toward it because of my height restrictions.
Starting week four of flower. #1 just started stacking it on while #2 decided to stretch an entire foot more easily being the largest auto I’ve ever had and quite possibly a record for a stardawg at a tick under 41”. #3 was germinated 12 days after the other two because it was supposed to be a blackberry but I couldn’t get them to go. It’s a bushy little sucker and I’ve been trying to make sense of what is what and removing leaves feverishly and now it’s in preflower and if it follows suit it should explode in the stretch any second. You can literally see this strain grow when it happens and get as much as an inch a day without problem. The next is the blackberry and they simply are not a big plant and while this one is bigger than my first try and they put off a very berry like smell in the end. She’s in flower as well but stubby. The new surprise of this tent is the dark devil that is three weeks newer than anything and out of nowhere they shot up to the height of stardawg number two. This tent will be so jammed up in the next 7 days I’m going to have to get creative on stripping lower leaves from the devils. Having a great time with it though! @Mrcrabs @Grandaddy013 @Cyle1 @peachfuzz @Budbrother @AAA
Is that ridiculous or what? I was kind of freaked out when it turned into a candy striper but some of the phenos get pink tint to the flowers when they finish and i hope she is one of them! @Cyle1
If you want to try something new these systems are diy for about $150 if you already have a room going. I have a friend who has a similar one to it and they simply yield two-three times as much as soil and are as he puts it stupid simple.
