Seeing some cloudy, some clear…no amber really though, so it depends on your overall effects you are looking for. Quick, fast stoney, you are there. But to have the best effects of THC mostly cloudy on the BUD, not sugarleaves, is what you are going for. Amber color trichs for a little couch lock if ya wanna. Again, it’s all up to you. I like to REALLY appreciate my couch cushions for about three hours, so I would wait. but if you are a walker-toker, take a sample bud and see what happens!
Another update! Just installed the UV Supplementals from ACI after seeing/watching @Newt in action! Hoping these give the falls a little boost as they get ready to cross the finish line!
looking stellar! A little bit of extra is like sugar in the coffee…always a nice addition.
Hey y’all! Thinking of waiting a few more days before chopping GSCE. I will be away for four days, so my self watering system will be watching the girls, this week! Here are some pics of GSCE. If you’ve got feels about chopping them, please feel free to comment - always appreciate the assist!
VERY nice job! They look ready to go.
Looking good!
Happy harvesting!
So, I ended up leaving town (4 days🤮) this morning for work. I’m already chomping at the bit to get back and chop GSCE! I have a drying tent coming with hangers, fan, exhaust fan and humidifier for climate control - hard to maintain 60-60 otherwise. I’m going to go for a dry trim this time around. I’m actually looking forward to doing the trim, manually, this time:) Also, I’ve got a moisture sensor for the buds as they are drying, so I don’t bag/cure too soon😬
confession moment my last harvest ended up going moldy during the drying/curing phase. It was a hard learning moment. But, I am learning:) So, different strategies this time - hang dry, moisture sensor, dry trim and better humidity sensors for the curing. A friend of mine told me that the first batch going bad was my tuition in weed growing college. Make mistakes, learn, get better. Then, maybe someone can learn from me - quicker and less painfully:)
Thank you all, always for your feedback and support. It cannot be said enough - this is a great group of folks!
Also. I miss the smell of my plants😢
I’ve been reading and updating my knowledge base, here. I’m wondering if any of y’all have some “oh my goodness, I wish someone told me this about harvesting, drying and curing” knowledge, you’d throw at me before I make the big cut on Thursday!?
- Grove Bags. Get them, use them, love them.
- A 10 day dry time at 60% humidity and 60F REALLY IS the best way to ensure quality bud with preserved terpenes. They last longer in storage and a year later still stone ya like mount rushmore.
- Take any off-looking buds OUT of the equation before putting everything into curing
- Make friends and influence others, give samples of stuff and ask for feedback. Then you know how you’re doing, what to change, and how to see your next grow.
- Failures make the best experience and lessons. Take every failure as a learning experience, put it in the coffers, and appreciate the opportunity to fail.
A write-up I did a while back. Maybe it will help. Best of luck.
@TransplantedFarmgirl and @Newt Woohoo!!! Thank you both so very much!!! You guys are AWESOME!!!
Whew! I’m back and I’m almost ready to chop GSCE! I have a few things I’m waiting for with amazon and then I’m ready to go! Please take a gander at the gals! (Mainly GSCE;))
congratulations! fantastic finish to a great grow!
@TransplantedFarmgirl thanks! It’s been a ride! Probably going to be a minute before GDP is set. But, I’m ready to try my different drying/trimming/curing strategy:) Thanks as always for the support!
Sorry about your last dry/cure problem.
Nice plants!!
Others have given great advice about harvesting. I usually have dry air, so avoiding over-drying is main harvest problem that I juggle.
@Twelve1 - thanks:) yeah, everyone has their own environmental challenges! I’m a tweener with sometimes humid summers and pretty dry winters. So, I kinda need a tent with great climate control to get this right. Hard part will be managing the temp, since it’s august and the AC cannot be set to 60deg😂
Part of the challenge was that I was out of town for the drying process last time, and it was the blind leading the blind, with my neighbor following my instructions over the phone. This time I’ll be around and managing the heck out of this drying/curing process, in person;)
Heyo! It’s the weekend! Got home from work and prepped my drying tent. Giving it 1 day to get some homeostasis going:) Then, tomorrow, I CHOP!!! (Just GSCE… GDP is back to being a wild one and is reaching for the lights with the buds fattening up:smiling_face:)
Here are some pics from the tent! Enjoy!
looking absolutely stellar!
How does your drying setup look this time, since the last one you said had some issues?
If still having issues, Have you considered helping the dry by using a cardboard box? Some growers will use it to help control humidity better when other options may be lacking.
If @beardless and @Nicky are out there, they may have some good info on this.
@TransplantedFarmgirl
If I’m not mistaken @Nicky signed off a week or more ago. Said he was signing off indefinately and thanked everyone.
