New to growing but I know i have some type of deficiency please help

Hey what’s up. So I’m trying to figure out how to fix my plants the correct way and not over due it or fix the wrong issue. I think i have a zinc, mag, iron or sulfur issue from the leaf chart that i seen on here. But i would like to ask and see if a few experts could please give me a few ideas to correct my babies. One plant is a strawberry gorilla auto and the other is a gorilla cookies auto and both are from 420 fast buds. I’m growing them using general hydroponics nutrients in 70 / 30 coco. I’m following the feeding schedule for photos and I think that’s where I’m running into my issue bcuz I heard auto take less nutes than photos.

These types of micronutrient deficiencies are rare. Issues are much more likely to be related to NPK issues or a pH issue. Your plant doesn’t look too bad at all.

Let’s get some more information and go from there:

NA (non-applicable)

• What strain, Seed bank, or bag seed

• Method: Soil w/salt, Organic soil, Hydroponics, Aquaponics, KNF

Soil brand and type

Runoff numbers are extremely important, and would likely tell the tale. At this stage, You should probably be feeding at least twice a day to liberal runoff. Otherwise it sounds like you are doing everything right. I prefer humidity in the mid 50’s. But I think that is debatable.

Hi, I grow pretty much exactly the same, except I use air-pots (normally).

I’m trying autopots in one tent and had exactly the same issue you did, my plant pretty much looked exactly like yours. I did stabilize it by flushing it w/FloraKleen in an 8 gallon flush to get output TDS about 150 then hooked back up to reservoir. Was in mid-flower, about 2+ weeks from harvest. It never greened up, but the buds did pack on so not overly concerned and I got a good harvest from it last week. The other plant in the pot, off the same res, green and happy as could be. Just goes to show you all plants are different. :man_farmer:

Back to top-watering in coco/perlite. You need to check the output EC compared to input. Ideally it should not be more that 300 higher than input. With 5 gallon pots, you “might” get away with watering twice a day, better 3-4 events a day, to 10% runoff. As said, PH 5.7-6.0 in. It’s a fools gambit, IMO, to chase output PH in Coco. If EC is much higher than input, flush.

I followed the recommendations from Dr. Coco (cocoforcannabis.com) in that I always pre-rinse the coco to reduce the coco sludge/pete, makes a huge difference in how it drains. Also pre-rinse with cal-mag. I also run 50/50 coco/perlite as we’re essentially running hydroponic so I’d much rather have the drainage/aeration to avoid any root issues.

Sorry if this was all known and answered, I’m a bit baked at the moment. :tropical_drink:

I don’t see anything overly concerning Growmie. I would recommend adjusting your PH to 6.3-6.8. Coco loco is a blend and should be treated like soil. What’s your feeding frequency, looking a little light deprived as well :love_you_gesture:

I’ll start checking the run off next watering and thanks for the info. What should my Runoff pH be?

Thanks for the info and I’m also thinking about switching to auto pots because hand watering is brutal. I did flush both plants using florakleen and i totally agree with you on all plants are different and i learned that by thinking i could feed different strains all the same amount of nutes. And I’m not watering enough I’m going to increase my amount of watering.

Thanks for stopping by… and i was told that the best ph for coco is 5.8 - 6.5 this is something that has always confused me. And I’ve been feeding every other day but I’m about to start feeding at least once a day or even twice a day. Or thinking about feed 1 day then ph water the next day.

6.5 is too high for straight coco. 5.8-6.0 is where I try to stay.

The ideal PH for coco is 5.8-6.2. I read you’re using coco loco which is a blend of organic mulch like product and coco coir. I use both mediums but separately and coco loco should be treated like soil for PH and feeding/watering frequency. I keep the coco loco lightly damp and depending on your vessel size will determine the feeding frequency :love_you_gesture:

Any idea on what type of deficiency it is and best way to correct it? I already flushed it using florakleen and she’s ready for some nutes…

Sound like @OGIncognito might have the issue? You pH is more likely low? That would be your deficiency. You’re doing pretty good. Bring your pH up closer to 6.3-6.5 and see if things start looking better.
