@bob31 some of the sites i fimmed are sprouting new growth! Seems like a couple almost have 3 “growths” from where i fimmed. Some of the others i may have accidentaly topped and the growth seems a bit slower. I guess my ? is, is that normal?

yep, fimming can make them a little weird but give them a little time to grow out. I swear i got five off one of my FIM’s but I can’t remember which plant it was and I didn’t put it in my journal, lol

@VelcroThumb Worse case on the topping you should get at least two. So fim those two!

@Covertgrower I just checked on them since switching to 100% and i believe i can tell a diff… the girls love it!!! The ballast goes up to Super Lumens, but i will probably stick with 100. Although im not opposed to testing Super Lumen out for a day or two… maybe during flowering… any suggestions @bob31?

They look great from here @VelcroThumb Just make sure the lights are at at the correct distances from the top of the plants so they get the max benefit from those lights! (manufacturer recommendations).

I will check but what is typical distance… i have it 18" from top of tallest plant, which is the blueberry

It depends… usually the light manufacturer will set recommended distances

If not what is the equivalent or advertised wattage? @VelcroThumb

600w advertised

Another member put out a list for LED lights and the recommended distance for a 600 watt is 2.5 to 3 feet above the plants.

You’re at 18,I’d go up to at least 2 feet to be safe and keep an eye on the tops of the plants to see how they do. (or you could stay at 18 and see what happens, but that seems too close to me)

@bob31 Gotcha! I was trying to look for myself, but Yieldlab doesnt have its own website. All I could find about wattage was that its rated 600w… not sure on actual output

**@bob31 i am running HID

hmm ok. HID I think you could use the back of the hand test

I know you’re the led specialist. But ever hear of super lumen with HID?

I have not, I’ll check it out @Ray4x.

@Ray4x that didn’t take long. Looks like it’s a boost within the ballast that increases output by drawing more power from the wall.

From the looks of it, it’s intended to be used after 2-3 growing cycles to offset the normal fade in output from hps bulbs. And is not recommended to be used earlier than that, as it will decrease life of bulb. Basically getting an extra grow out of your bulbs before changing.

I didn’t look too deep, so that info may not be 100% accurate. But sounded good enough for me. Gavita uses similar technology to overdrive some of their fixtures.

@bob31 not sure if it is because i have kitchen hands (used to hot stuff) or if it is because i have intake blowing through it, but i can hold my hand under it within inches for a long time

Check temps at floor level and then move thermometer to height of canopy and let’s see what ya get for both readings! @VelcroThumb

I have a thermometer hanging about canopy height… it reads a steady 79ish… depending on how hot it is outside. Floor level reads about 73f

@bob31 i might need to clarify i have a 600w hps witha shield and doubled ended. I have intake running thru the light and out of the tent
