I’m kicking off a New Growers Challenge for anyone on their first or second grow, or anyone who’s been lurking and hasn’t started a journal yet.
This isn’t about growing the biggest plant or getting the biggest harvest. It’s about learning, sharing your progress and building confidence.
I made plenty of mistakes when I started growing, and some of those mistakes taught me more than the easy grows ever did.
How to join
Start a grow journal in the Grow Journals section (or share the one you’ve already started).
Post the link in this thread.
Keep updating it as you go.
Share the good and the bad. Ask questions. If something goes wrong, post it. That’s what the forum is here for.
At the end, the community will vote for their favorite grow. Not the biggest, just the one they enjoyed following most. Poll will be launched on December 21st, so the winner gets their prize for Christmas

Going on 2 years I’ve done a little of everything.

Here is my current grow, well two at once, DWC in a 18 x 28 inch x 5 foot 6 inch high broom closet with one 16 gallon tote with 2 permanent markers and a fat bastard in 1 inch rock-wool cubes in 1 inch net pots with two 4 inch flat round one sided air stones powered by a 20 watt air pump under a 240/250 watt vivosun light and a 4 inch USB powered fan for air circulation.
The main tent is a 5x5x6 foot tent, 2 fat bastard and 2 permanent makers in 4 x 16 gallon with a 5 inch round one sided air stones powered by a 85 watt pump in 4 inch net pots, under a mars hydro FCE8000 (730 watt) light and 2x6 inch fans for air with a 6 inch exhaust fan.
Sown on May 18, maybe 6 more weeks until maturity, it starts here…

Is it to late to get in on the growers challenge? I would like to be in. When do we start our grow I am a mounth out before I can start a hydroponics grow due to temperature of my pot.
