New grower have one plant am I doing right by it

Yeah I won’t run 24 light period except only until the seedling sprout for about 2 days m but your plant is well past that stage . A plant will thrive better with at least 4 hours of sleep meaning lights off , but even under a 24 hour light period the plant will adapt , go into a self mode to protect itself from consistence lighting , but even outdoor it’s a dark period from the sun . But if you was to run 18/6 you will see a significant difference in vegging , and if the plant looks like it stalling or stop growing , just remember when it’s not growing visibly above the soil , it’s most likely rooting beneath the soil and most newbies don’t understand this part of the process in growing and get impatient and over feed to try and rush the plant after they see progress visibly , so keep that in mind of being patient . Now also it’s a clone , most time you have to give a clone at least I believe 2-4 weeks to transition back to vegging being it was cloned from a mother plant and the clone also keeps the same calendar timing of growing I think , you might need to research more on that to make sure first , but if you was to scrog and give it more vegging time you won’t be disappointed at harvest time I promise . The more cola tops you can grow out through a screen or scrog the more buds tops you will have which make a good yield .

What size is your pot the plant is growing in right now ? I’ve grown in a 1 gallon , and a 3 gallon and watered with only a gallon of ph water 2-3 times a week , but keep in mind lights play a important factor with watering cause of the heat in a close growing space , and you also have fans blowing also I assume which also helps dry out your growing soil . Now for starters the best way to determine your watering process is to water your plant until at least 20% of water is running out the bottom of the pot , that’s the water you want to ph to make sure your plant is getting the right ph water , but after you fully water the plant you should pick it up and kind of try to get an idea of how heavy the pot is so you can know what it feels like when it’s watered , that way if you wondering if it needs water you can pick it up and kind of guess if it need more water or not , than you can do the finger test about a knuckle deep but it’s not a sure way I think cause the top layer can be dry , but the bottom layer can still be very wet . But if you have strong powerful lights it’s gone be up to you to figure out how fast your soil is drying , but with CFL or LED even if they strong lights they don’t put out much heat vs MH or HPS lights , so you might water everyday with HPS vs every 2-3 days with LED or CFL’s …make sense . But they have a gadget I bought for like $4 bucks on Amazon that can be useful for watering , it also has a ph measuring switch on it too , but I don’t trust that part of it , just the wet part . It has two probes with a measuring gauge on it and it can be a useful help for big pot growers , due to depth of your soil being so deep in a 5 gallon vs a 3 gallon . I’ll post a photo of it so you can see what I’m talking about , but you definitely want to get your watering on a schedule so you don’t over water your plant , which can cause different problems as for mold , bugs , and leaf curling which can impact your yield . But fans , lights , and temperature plays a big role in watering , which you must get figured out to keep her happy . Hope this makes sense , and help you get it figured out . Happy growing my friend , I’ll post that picture of the probe I used .

This what I used to measure howwet my soil is deep down in my plant pots , now it has a PH meter on it as well but I don’t really trust that part of it , cause the probes has to be really clean with no debre on it but I just don’t trust it for as ph , but for moisture or wetness I used it to see how wet my soil is down deep that I can’t feel or touch and it helps for measuring wetness , I just don’t trust the ph part . Hope this helps !

When I saw that multi-probe picture @yoshi I remembered I had one put away from my old grows, I’ve got it in my soil now -thanks for jogging my memory! - happy growing!

P.S. I wouldn’t trust it for pH either, it’s way off, but it’s great for moisture!

Few days on new light schedule I’m seeing great growth will be transplanting to 3gal. Pot next week if all go`s well thank you for good info

Yeah I have one too ph is always wrong so I also just use for moisture

It’s a good way of determining on watering , but I don’t trust the ph , I do switch it to ph just to see , but I don’t trust it a 100% , I make sure my ph is right going in and coming out , but I also check my ppm as well just for my written notes in my calendar .
