New, first time grower

Alright lads here is an update. I watered one of the plants to check the ppm. It’s at 2375. With a ph of 5.9. I did a flush with just ph down and r.o water. Gonna wait 15 min and do it again. Any other suggestions? Was thinking about buying fox farms sledgehammer. I have not given any nutes to the plants. This is just what it is after 5 days post transplant in fox farms ocean Forest. I see now why people say that soil is super hot.
Needless to say I think growth has slowed way down.

How they looking? Leaves are a dark green. The soil was pretty dry. So I did water the plants. They got a ph. 6.4 at 100ml. Here are some pics of the plants.

This last pic is of the plant I flushed as a test.

Looking good. Start watering them when they need it. I wouldn’t worry too much about the TDS of your runoff being high. The plants should show new growth at a rapid rate now.

I watered to runoff the day after transplant and measured crazy high EC and TDS for both plants; 3220 for one and 4090 for the other. This was the first full watering for both in fresh FFHF in 7 gallon fabrics. Hoping they don’t get burnt with the high EC/TDS but they seem pretty happy.

Happy growing!

Hey we are on the same train gromie. I’m watching your grow and here is the link to my journal if you like. What DLI are you giving them now?

Just started following it. I am currently doing a 20/4 light schedule. How about yourself? Actually I need to buy a meter to check it.

Just turned them up to 40 DLI going into the 5th week. Here is a tool you can use once you have a meter. Some folks use the Photon App too and its free!

Okay so I used the app and it’s at 53 dli with both running at 50% and I had the lights 100% white with 50% red and it was reading 72 dli. So I backed off both lights to 50%

This article is decent and has a chart that gives you an idea of about where cannabis likes to be for DLI by growth stage. This is just a guideline. You may keep the plant in veg longer or shorter depending on circumstances.

Okay this is awesome information, thanks for sharing it with me. This makes a lot
Of sense. I was seeing a little tacoing even with the lights around 35 inches away. So turning back the lights might help.

I didn’t answer your question - I’m running 18/6 and will hang there until week 8. The light is about 20" above the tops at the moment and set at level 8 out of 10 to give a DLI of 40 at ~650 PPFD. I call it adequate. This is a decent light for a 2’4’ tent. Once I flip to 12/12, this light will not give the best/best results but it will suffice.

The light I am using is the one doc recommended. Seems to be a solid light with 840 watts.

Thanks dude. Seems so easy to get carried away with numbers. If it’s in the ball park and they look fine. I’m just gonna let them roll and tell me what they need. I have been watching your harvest man. Looks tasty!
