@Myfriendis410 can I do kind soul at the bottom and use coco loco as medium? Is there anything you would suggest adding?

@Myfriendis410 do you have a humidifier in your tent? If so, any you would recommend? I’m thinking about going with kind soil and ocean Forrest. What do you think?

@Mrcrabs is a soil guy.
I don’t own a humidifier because our ambient RH is fairly high to start.

@KeystoneCops nice explaination for sure. I’ve read a lot into co2, forgot most. Just not into it my plants seem happy enough. I don’t even want to open that can of worms.
@Bunnymalo Mine was 80 bucks cool mist works great. If you plan on using big pots you will end up needing a dehumidifier also once you uppot into those and start watering. Especially in flower where you’ll be watering a lot.
Go-to the MC website Greenleaf nutrients . Com I might get in trouble for posting that. never used kind soil don’t need it with OF + MC

Kind soil and OF won’t get you through flower you need power and mega crop is super cheap super strong and has everything even stuff like silica

@Wannabe So the 1000g would be enough to do four 5g pots? for the whole process? and how much should I purchase for Ocean Forrest 1.5Cu/f should I buy for 4 pots? besides those two things what else do you add to your plant?
@Bunnymalo. First off, get the free sample. The free sample is 500g and will last you your entire grow and beyond. I have a lot but haven’t gotten through my free sample yet. You may wanna grab two of the 1.5c/ft bags. That should do the trick. Only other thing I add is 1tbsp of molasses per gallon. I use 6.5 grams of mc per gallon because my ladies are super hungry from the lights. So that’s 26 grams per feed cuz I use 4 gallons 1 gallon per plant. No reason that’s just when I begin to get runoff. Hope this helps feel free to ask me anything.
Edit: mega crop isn’t like kind soil. Or any soil. It’s powdery. Completely organic vegan full purpose fertilizer. Read the ingredients you literally need nothing else I just use molasses because why not
I never hear anyone speak about MC. I barely found out about it. I’m so happy I did. It’s the growing communities best kept secret. I’m so surprised many do not use it. I first heard about it reading a hydro grow journal where all he used was MC and his plants were crazy big.

Hey no worries bro. I’ve only been growing for a year myself but you can learn a lot in a year. Definitely thanks to a lot of these guys and gals on this forum. We’ve all been there ask away there’s a ton of experience on this thread. You gotta start somewhere and I promise it’s not as hard as it seems.

@Wannabe for sure! So am I going to need a dehumidifier from day one? or wait on it? also, where do you get Molasses from? and what brand is it?

Nah you can get a dehumidifier shipped from Amazon over night. Just buy it when you notice it getting too high. Early on you won’t be watering as much so you may need a humidifier then later dehumidifier. Just observe and adapt. Any blackstrap molasses works. Amazon.com

This is how I set up my soil grows except, I use more Happy Frog about half and half and where the yellow is I place an empty solo cup so, when I am ready to transplant the perfect size hole is already there. End product looks like this.

Went through the same thing a few days ago @Bunnymalo. I’m a new grower also and ran into the same thing. I bought 2 lights before joining this forum. A “900w Green go and a 600w vivosun” both off Amazon. The 900 is really less then 200 and the 600 is about 300.
I went 4x4 vivosun tent and ordered a HLG 260w xl rspec and plan to get another before flower time.
I’d say go with the recommendations instead of driving yourself crazy. Lights are of the most important if not the most important part of a grow. The added expense of the lights will hopefully pay themselves off in the end…less power and better buds.

Hello and welcome to ILGM, alot of good advice and great people. Glad to have you aboard and that you joined before purchasing. Do the research join other grow journals to see what and how they are doing it and the results they are getting, problems they encounter and such. I spent alot of time researching, discussing, and watching before I got started and I am soooo glad I did, I avoided many costly errors and grow issues. It has already paid off as I am 3 for 3 seeds to seedlings, they will be entering veg real soon and basically had 0 problems so far. Had I just started then ask questions I’m sure I would have killed 5-10 plants before getting it half way right. Your in great hands. I’m along for the ride. I am also a first time grower.
