Need Advice - Thinking Calcium Deficiency

OK - Soil Slurry tonight. Do you know if I can use RO water or does it need to be distilled?

Thanks!

Any other leaves look like that? Any closer examples?

Lots of leaves starting to look like that.

Could this be a nute lockout issue??

Thanks

Looks like nitrogen and magnesium deficiency. I would verify ph is good first.

PH out ranges from 6.3 - 6.6. Using RO water in.

I can up my CalMag and start feeding - is it possible to over CalMag?

Definitely doing a slurry test tonight too

I agree with @Nicky on a soil slurry test! and I also agree with @Covertgrower on verifying ph! Test your ph pen for calibration!

I just calibrated PH Pen so that should be good.

Will report back tonight on slurry test.

If there is a nute lockout how would that effect my PH? Would it be high? Just trying to learn for future reference.

Thanks all

It’s possible, but more likely you’ll see
Excess nitrogen before anything else.

@Nicky @Covertgrower @Holmes

So slurry test PH is 8.25.

Can someone tell me how its 8.25 when run off is 6.3-6.6?

Also, should my next steps be to flush until PPM is way down and then feed?

Thanks again for all the help and info.

Did you also do a ppm of slurry test?
Did you check water before test?

PPM before was under 20 (RO water) and after was between 220-230

Yes, that is what I would do, just get it too 6.5 and then water normally and you should be good!

If you washed out nutrients in the runoff it will be low, I do not know why there would be that much difference. We need to get your #s around 4-500ish ppm and something in mid 6 range for ph.

Thanks @Holmes

Appreciate all the support from everyone.

First thing you have to do is get that PH under control. That’s going to require a flush with ph’d water.

So do that, runoff on PH is terribly inaccurate due to the high run off TDS altering the PH.

Once you flush enough that your slurry sample is the right PH like 6.5 for soil or 5.8 for coco/hydro
Then you can feed a full feeding of Ph’d feed.
Follow the tds recommended on your feed chart for your nutrient line for thes tsge your in.

As I assumed PH lockout causing deficiencies

Thanks @Nicky

Going to go flush now and get this under control. (I Hope :slightly_smiling_face:)

They have got you covered. Flush with lots of PH’d water I had a lockout with HF and OF this summer, and it took over 20Gals to get the numbers down. I will add I was growing in 5G bags in a greenhouse, so easy to throw water at them, but it worked great

Thanks @jetlag

This is fun. NOT :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

Getting there slowly

Well that was 3 hours of flushing

PPM Out on all plants is between 475-525
PH Out on all plants is between 6.4 - 6.65

Need to deal with other things but will run soil slurry tomorrow when lights come on.

Virtual Beer and Gummy :bear: for everyone that helped!

Thank you

Fun with soil =(

You really should feed the same day you flush, now you can wait until they dry out and then feed a full feeding or you can feed it now but there will be a bit of a droopy effect since plant will have been watered over and over.
Ide rather feed to avoid leaf/plant damage.

Hey @Nicky Thanks for that info. I had every intention of feeding but had a small family emergency that took priority.

I was planning on letting them dry out and then feed, but after reading this I will go feed now.

Thanks
