My Humboldt Abode

Ended up pulling the branch. Good thing I did, it was starting to go necrotic on top.

Pulled some clones too because they were getting a little too large on Indie. Maybe should have waited for 2 of Hera’s, but will probably only keep 4 anyways. Misted everything after but that always makes for a bad pic.

First time my clones haven’t been scared of the light in the first 24 hours. Thanks to @Budbrother for recommending a pre soak. I should have known, always better when wet.

Soaked them overnight with coconut water, aloe, and likely far too much rootwise.

I don’t bother with the RW: microbe complete. Most are rhizosphere/root dependent species and little help to rooting process. That chit isn’t cheap.

Good to know!

Yeah nothing from them is really. I’ve been sourcing a lot of stuff local too, but just read great things about the rootwise and it’s biodiversity. I will say it’s a pretty small dose once a month though so I think even the small should last awhile.

Anybody in MI trying to cut costs should check out Country Roots and Morgan Composting though. I’m working with them now and loving the price and quality of products. Neither sell a “myco” product though outside of the teas.

Considering the full biodiversity, I guess it’s actually economical vs buying Azos, Spirillium, trichoderma, etc

Choice :smiling_face_with_sunglasses: The Bacillus Subtilis and mycos are the ones I add for rooting clones.

Would post this at 4:20, but have to pass out for Easter events tomorrow.

I’ll be celebrating spring solstice myself. Got the border of the outdoor garden tilled and seeded with wildflowers. A little late in the season based on the seed recommendations, but there was about 4 inches of snow across the whole garden like a week ago.

Decided I’m going to run a few outdoor girls in my 6x6 berry greenhouses. Can’t decide if I want to run fresh clones or the previous bonsai mothers. They’re looking worse for ware and have to be stunted by now. Might throw them in with the raspberries and then throw 4 of the fresh clones in with the strawberries. I’ll be using 30 gallon pots which I think should support 4 ish strawberries and 2 cannabis plants outdoors?

Flipped the inside girls in celebration. Did just a light defoliation on the bottom taking anything not getting light. Then turned the light up 2 notches. Lights will change in the AM. Based on how they’ve reacted to pruning so far hoping they’ll kick start but also hoping I can get into my tent in 3 weeks.

I’m doing the same this year, except I haven’t been able to till anything yet. Still to wet. Hoping to keep some predatory bugs around this year.

It’s going to be a full tent for sure. :+1:
Enjoy your Easter :smiling_face_with_sunglasses:

Yeah, it was dry fit me until it rained hallway through and then wasn’t… I just finished it out that too get them in the ground because some were supposed to be stratified.

I was considering dropping in some lady bugs and praying mantis. They’ve both always been some of my favorites and don’t see many around.

Same to you!

A week in on stretch and the girls are looking good.

Hera is taking too much of the nitrogen but Gaia seems balanced and happy with what she has. Maybe should have taken her clone instead. Whoops, you live and learn.

I think maybe a little bit of a magnesium battle in the other bed if I’m not mistaken. Nothing too worrisome though considering the yellower girl has been behind on nitrogen and energy since seed so they seem more well balanced.

Clones were doing phenomenal until I botched hardening off and passed out with the dome open. Only took until lunch the next day for me to drop everything and run down in a panic. Indie’s clones particularly didn’t take well to it and started damping off. Going to hold off another day on the next dry sesh and see how they react. They should be good for transplant and might just want to shoot those roots though. Before and after the overexposure below. Will honestly probably ditch doing mothers this round even though this plants look phenomenal to me. The growth patterns I kept just aren’t very indoor friendly which is more what I’d want the mother’s for.

Plan to do a phosphorous feed and microbe adjustment tomorrow. Girls should have plenty of N for the most part but will still light feed worm castings to everyone but Hera for a little late stage nitrogen boost around when I lollipop.

Main girls are blooming!

They’re 2 weeks in with the flowers starting to form. It’s wild how much better the pollen smells with the organic.

The clones are hardening off well and looking great. Feels kind of a shame to not be able to run them all, but it would kill my count when starting my next seeds in a month for the indoor.

@Bentstick @Dforce or other Michigan folks on here, if y’all or anybody you know would want a Jelly Donutz clone from Humboldt Seeds I’ve got 2 to spare. All organic and from the girl in the back left above. Based on her indoor growth somebody that knows what they’re doing should be able to grow her into a monster outdoors.

Thanks for the offer @MedLifeCrisis ,Iam going to be loaded up for this summer, appreciate the offer thank you.

Happy to hear and honestly expected. Plant count just always feels like such a silly reason to not let one keep going but I don’t know any other growers IRL. I’d have a whole field no question if it weren’t an issue. Nearly every limb I took honestly.

Thanks! I’ve been really happy with this batch. They smell like a spring meadow which has been blowing away the winter blues.

Starting to smell so good. Had to reach through the bush to trim some cover crop and can’t quit sniffing my arm.

On unrelated note the outdoor soil came today.

Morgan Composting Blends. I went with half Veggie Doo and half Smoking Tomato. Also a load of cedar mulch.

Really happy with the quality so far, but waiting to crack the sacks until I’ve got the beds ready. Wife pitched in and we got the first load of mulch spread. Pretty excited to test my hand outdoors. Just 5 more of those and there should be enough cedar to keep stuff at bay until I get get the wildflowers, herbs, and marigold going in the next few years.

Flower and veggie seedlings below too. They’re all pretty healthy and happy with a little coconut water and a sprinkle of some seed starter on the Coco. Waiting for the melons and Dahlia to pop.

Ladies received a much needed trim and train following stretch. Once I stretched them out realized I may have taken a little much when stretched. Also ran out of parts half way through the trellis and had to get a little creative. Not the biggest fan of the clips I bought though and will probably spring for the PVC next round.

Well folks, always read your labels carefully. Been treating a pretty clear magnesium deficiency in the right bed with a manganese supplement. Felt stumped when it got worse and showed up in Indie too. She’s shown signs for 3-5 days with really only one seriously impacted leaf. So hoping she snaps back. Given Jane has had issues with energy and nutrients from seed, not sure she’ll produce much at this point. Honestly just hoping she can hold out her energy through flower. Hit them with a heavy dose of roots organic cal mag which I believe is immediately available but still learning organic and all their break down periods.

Sorry left out the obvious signs on the inner plant. Above is phosphorous deficiency in the other. Thinking the link might be a lack of magnesium because they should be overfed on N and P.
