I grew vegetables using the Kratky method last winter. It works but has some obvious drawbacks. Because the solution is added as needed and the plants can use it very fast, you will be all hands on deck all the time. The larger the plant gets, the faster you will need to replace solution. In addition to that, ph is difflicult to keep stable unless you constantly change solution because there isnt much volume and as the plants consume food and water at different rates the solution becomes out of balance rather quickly. That said, it works, though its only a hole away from a bubble bucket, which works far better.
