My first DWC grow

No Fcked on a Real Deal, fix or repair daily, Fued on Race Day. I could go on. I have owned a few FORD’s in my lifetime unfortunately, most have been lemons. I did have a Mustang Mach II back in the day that was pretty bad a** :+1: :tumbler_glass: :v: I have also owned some from other manufacturers that did not impress me. I used to have a 76 Trans Am, black with red interior and T-tops. That I put a 455 Rocket in 2 4 barrels and a Muncy m-44 rockcrusher tranny in. I left the exhaust stock and the hood scoop said that I had a much smaller motor under the hood. Them old boys with the cammed out Chevelle’s used to be in shock when I left them at the light. :+1: :tumbler_glass: :v:

My dad always had Ford trucks that were great and help up well. I like em. I jus th had to throw it out there.

Guitar, buddy. I put on full blown rockin performances for myself.

I kinda had to throw it out there as well for my friend @Grundo, he knows that I am just playing. Awesome looking car my friend :+1: :tumbler_glass: :v: In my older age, I had to give up the fast azz vehichles because, I don’t know how to slow down. Had the same issue in my motocross racing days :tumbler_glass: :v:

@elheffe702…I bet that was a lot of fun to drive. Handle like it was on rails?

Definitely. It was the NA model, only just under 200 hp, but when it’s only about 3000 pounds with me in it, soft, sticky 295/45/18s all the way around… It scooted pretty good. I about wrecked it once. I was getting off the freeway, and decided the left turn form the off ramp would be the perfect place for a 50-60 mph drift, with my gf in the passenger seat. Not showing off, just having fun without thinking it through. Anyway, I hit a ‘rut’ when I got to the bridge that went over the freeway I’d just exited, went from asphalt to grooved concrete, and she said “we’re goin THIS way now”. I kept it off the wall and center divider, but ended up stopped facing the one other car that got off the highway maybe a 1/4 mile behind me. He was sitting there looking at me like:

…so I waved him by, made sure my gf didn’t need a towel, and on we went lol

Oh damn, that’s funny…I can almost picture it happening. Well not funny but funny…glad your gf didn’t need a towel:joy::sunglasses:

That would be very cool to do😎…I took mine to a road course…after a few 20 minute sessions my instructor pulled me to the side and said well we’re bumping you up to the next class, congratulations…I was like what if I don’t want to get bumped up…those guys run pretty hard😎

Similar thing happened to me at this thing called “the Drive” GM put on to demo the new Corvettes, C-6 back then I think. Anyway, behind the Sahara, there’s a Monorail station, and there’s a parking lot behind it for the convention center. They made a little autocross course there, and the GM driver ride along goes “Okay, no slap shifting, and try not to spin the…” ERRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR :dash: He was upset at first, then impressed when I got to the corners. They had a little “cool down” area between laps that you rolled through. And he goes “do you auto cross a lot?” Never. :joy:

I don’t know about all that! But I’ve always loved to drive. I backed a car into a pasture in front of my dad’s shop when I was 3 or 4. My dad raced circle track stuff, along with my cousins and uncles. Some of them still do, around Pueblo and Colorado Springs. They run Pintos mostly lol

The body style you have is my favorite, other than the 60s and early 70s Mustangs. Not a Ford guy. I’ve worked on literally every Ford my friends have owned. Had to drive my buddy’s 97 clear across Vegas to get it to my other buddy’s house with no clutch (had a worn-to-the-point-of-non-existent throw out bearing), so we could change the clutch. He was like “how the hell are you gonna drive it 20 miles with no clutch?!” Watch me.

Lol…yeah you don’t need a clutch. Just synchronize the rpm’s to the gear and she will pop right in! Not a Ford guy either but I’ve always wanted a 5.0…and I love this body style. I’ve been driving sticks my whole life…10,13,15,18,24 speed trannys. Doesn’t matter how many gears…it’s basically all the same pattern.

He had one of those, too. We stripped it down and were going to drag race it until we realized there was a large discrepancy between our idea of his budget and his actual budget. It ended up being more of a storage shelf in his garage.

I was usually just turning wrenches on someone else’s car. That Solstice was the first ‘project’ I had in a long long time. Ended up just selling it in the end, wasn’t practical at all for a family of 5, and just sat in the garage most of the time. It had super low mileage because of that, but I didn’t get much for it unfortunately. Needed rent more than it at the time.

Yeah not ideal for a family of 5😂
