I used a 600 watt HPS in my 3x3 for a long time before moving on to led recently, I thought it was perfect and yielded much more than a 400 watt HPS. it is hotter though, I used an air-cooled hood and sent exhaust out of the room with a 400 cfm fan.

Still putting together ideas for this next round 
, going to do a GDP and a White Widow , both Fems ! Looking at other lighting options other than the 400 HPS I used the last time . This HLG ELITE 225 , popped up on my radar . I think these just arrived on the market, anybody have any info on them ? More money than I’d like to part with but also would cut my energy costs and the heat issues …what ya think folk’s ? ? ?

Hi , @Hellraiser , reading your journal and see your into the LED now . Just seen these HLG Elite 225 , wonder if it would payoff with the energy savings and also get away from the heat some but is it in fact a upgrade in lighting from my present 400 HPS ?

The HLG 260W rspec kit is a much better light for $50 more, more light, better coverage, better efficacy (2.6 umol/joule vs 2.1 umol/joules for the elite 225). The 260 rspec would be a nice upgrade over the 400W HPS, more light, less heat, less electricity use.

Great light, yeah even better than the 260 kit - longer warranty, bigger longer heat sink in sexy red, will work very well for you.

Just a heads up for yourself and others , HLG has a listing up with a best offer option…I got the light with shipping for 400. This was 50 bucks less than the retailers

Update on our new pup , had him 3 weeks now . Bucky has shown himself to be extremely intelligent so far , he has been training me aggressively 
! Going to get in a few more weeks of me n Bucky time then I can get a couple seeds wet and start my next grow here ! High Times
