I’ve never heard of the Apple in the bag. Absolutely I’ll try it thank you
Apples are my goto for ethylene production. I use them a lot on pineapples to induce flowering in a shorter time.
Is that a chicken?
You’re going to smash it with a tree?
My nemesis, “The Squirrel”, I may have a chance of seeing a tomato
You may know him better from this perspective
From the picture you posted I can’t tell what the hell that thing is. I can see it’s claws and it looks like a dog’s foot I was like what the hell did he catch.
One squirrels like killing a single cockroach. There’s 10,000 more
Just not in the house of a 20 year exterminator.
Here’s what we pulled out one of our gardens yesterday afternoon.
We grow, raise and butcher 85% of what we eat; our trips to the grocery store are for things like flour, sugar, cornmeal, etc.
My wife is a born and raised country girl, im the city boy who had never even thought about a garden. She got me into gardening in 2013…ish, years later we’re homesteaders.
Bees, chickens, canning, tilling the soil, etc. Thats my jam.
I envy you. I didn’t see half that on pepper production the entire season. It sounds like you found the perfect country girl.
My tomatoes are slowly dying off, havent picked any tomatoes. Get SOO tired of spending hours picking them and nobody eating them. My hot bannanna peppers are super vigorous this year as well an my cayenne and cowhorn peppers as well as my serano. Purple majesty peppers are slow growing but still producing. Pulled all my cucumbers. Sad to see them go but its been a super great yeat for the veggies! Hope you get lots of goodies out of yours! Grow on
Yeah I’m still producing tons of tomatoes over here. Like you my cucumbers are done. I’ve got my young bush beans growing they’re a month old. I believe they’ll get through October but I don’t think I’ll see the end of November harvest.
My pepper still have fair amount of peppers growing but they’re not ready yet.
Ain’t that the truth. I love them and eat tons of them. I even picked the green ones and fry them and butter dipped in an egg wash with Italian bread crumbs
I freeze my sun gold cherry tomatoes. My grandson LOVES to eat them for a frozen snack.
I planted 36 big boy tomato plants, 8 sweet 100 , 2 sun gold, 1 roma, 6 ,4th of july, which are prolific producers, and 3 cherokee purple tomato, which turned out NOT to be cherokee purple. I have given 100’s of pounds away and still cant get rid of them all. Im a “grow and give” gardener. Just doesn’t feel right to charge people for things i dont need.
My God man. You can feed the entire town of Springfield with that. I grew two cherry tomatoes (huge daily producers) 1 beef steak and 2 better boys and I’ve had a constant supply and still able to give my next door neighbor a bag every two weeks filled.
You’re a good man @Happyday420
Frozen tomatoes
I can’t seem to wrap my head around that concept
I love me some fresh honey! We got a few beekeepers here locally that take their honey to the farmers market about 2 mi from here. I always grabbed me a couple jars
Thank you for the compliment. I got into gardening 5 years ago. My neghibor brought over 2 tomato plants and a few pepper plants he had too many of,asked if i wanted to try to grow them. He tilled me up a small.spot and i was instantly addicted! Being new to the “clean word” at the time, i wanted something to occupy my time. BINGO!! FOUND IT! gardening. Which led to cultivation. Which led to a healthy, happy life.
