Thanks OQ! Even the premie flowers I pulled off when lollipopping dried dense and firm. We got great weather ahead too.
Damn… maybe I do need to update through the week. I totally forgot to mention that The Don is pre-flowering.
The Don - Pre-flowering
Bravo thats gonns be some killer smoke! So happy to see your babies doing well! Peachz is the star of the show! Look at those colas grow!
Thanks sis! I transplanted Bluster into a 7 gallon bag today. I also top dressed and fed everyone. Peachez is straight lit! That smells amazing.
The Don is pre-flowering and starting to really stretch. I couldn’t be more pleased right now… unless my clones root.
gonna be so lit
Today I received an amazing blessing from my growmie brother @anon34311147. When he asked if I needed a pH/ppm meter and said he had one he doesn’t use he would send me, I was thrilled. All I had was one of these.
Which are not very accurate and can only test soil pH. I thought he was sending me a pH pen but when mentioned the calibration fluid I sensed something was up. Well it arrived today and here’s what was up. His awesome ass sent me a Milwaukee MW802 pro pH/EC/TDS meter. That’s a $230 meter!! My mind was blown and my heart humbled. So thanks again Marty and thanks ILGM for creating such an awesome place for people like us.

That’s why I love my brothers so much!!! Always looking out for each other!!! That’s just good karma (Maat) for you Shade! You deserve all those blessings my !!!
@anon34311147 you’re definitely a Saint McFly!!! Blessings to you always and forever! Many blessings of good health, happiness, prosperity, and all that brings you joy !!!
I saw the first picture before scrolling down and thought with friends like that who needs enemies lol but that is an awesome act of kindness and generosity on the part of @anon34311147
Now the real fun begins chasing numbers and rejoicing or sweating depending on what it tells you. If I had to guess based on the looks of your plants, you are in range and need not worry but you would never be able to make the jump to synthetic nutrients successfully with that pos probe. I think of those as decorative at best. Mrs got me a similar one when I started out and it was so horribly inaccurate in all 3 settings ( ph, moisture, light) that I cringe every time I see one in a post around here.
I laugh because! I can’t cringe at my learning curve lol
Soooo. I used that meter to test the ph of the water that I was feeding my plants on my first grow and I had two bag seeds. Ultimately I gave them an overdose of ph down, all because somebody said my ph was off and I need to check it and yada, yada.
I learned that you can’t listen to everyone else’s suggestions without meditating on it first. And that all the suggestions to buy this and that is just a very beautiful way of each person sharing their thoughts based on their own experiences.
Ohh how grateful I am to never use that crappy meter again. lol I have an Apera and it works perfectly fine for slurry test and anything else that I need to check the ph and ppms for.
If you haven’t already, get the storage solution. I’m on my 2nd apera because I was just using tap water regardless of through cleaning calibration and all that stuff. The curve be steep. Someone here once said growing weed is easy but growing really great weed is not.
He knew he was pushing me into madness.
Yeah that thing I had is a piece of crap. I haven’t even used it this grow because of issues it caused last grow (sodee popping ) so this is a HUGE improvement. I’m most interested in checking the pH of our well water before the filtration (spigots) and after (faucets). I have a feeling there’s a significant difference in the two and the soil buffer has been saving my ass.
I didn’t say anything!
You know that’s the kinda shit I do too.
I love you Sis!
I bet you had a slightly different model.
I just told my nephew that last weekend.
At least you were only going in one direction and using pH solution. Mine got overdosed on vinegar and baking soda.
My understanding is that as long as the ppm of the water is low it should not cause a rapid swing in the soil ph. Over time it may add up if it’s way out of range. Organic can live in a slightly broader range so it’s probably not as big a concern for you until you make the jump to adding nutrients to your watering. I would still want to know what I’m putting in so testing is still a good idea. Well water or arwa?
Oops. Next question, water softener?
Well water and I am using synthetic nutes in water to feed. So this is really gonna help.
Yeah there’s a marble filtration/softner system on the house faucets but not on the outside spigots.
I’d use the spigot water then unless the softener uses something other than salt and even then I think I’d err on the side of caution and use the spigot.
Yeah that’s what I’ve been doing thinking the same thing. I’m interested in checking the lake water too. It’s a pain to haul but the couple times I did they liked it.
Effluent pump and a run of garden hose would make it easier (maybe) but they have been getting more expensive in the last few years so could be more trouble than it’s worth, especially if you have a long run and no electricity close to the shore.
