Good to know!
Knowledge you’ll use every day right
Red rocket repellent
This mofo has his noses in the crack of the door like he’s sitting in time out but sniffing deep like he’s huffing paint
Since the storm that split Bluster’s manifold… surprise… surprise… half of him has been drooping and in shock. Since the remnants of Helene have come through that half has started darkening making me think it’s dead and needs to come down immediately. The other half seems to be doing ok. @Budbrother @Caligurl @Mr.Mr.Limelight do you think I should harvest that half? Here’s some pics.
I’d let it ride and see. The damage will increase its defenses, ie potency, if it can still supply enough capillary action. If not then chop that part when it wilts and begins to dry. This would allow it to use up additional nutrition over a few days and smooth those buds.
Thanks for the reply. I’ll keep letting it ride. I knew it would probably droop on that side (bottom pic left side) for a few days from the shock. I just got freaked out by the difference in stigma color (middle pic) even though I know they can go through phases especially when stressed.
I’ve been using zip ties and Gorilla Gel super glue to fix my broken branches. It works like a champ. I’ve used it on old and fresh breaks. On the fresh breaks you’ll never notice anything happened. The older ones that have air dried, it seals the wound and allows repairs to begin naturally. Of course, this slows development for a while in that branch.
That’s good to know. I actually have some. I was afraid it would seal the branch off so I’ve been trying to duct tape the outsides.
Slap some honey on fresh breaks and hold (zip) its back together. Then seal it up and hold till it dries. Try to avoid getting glue into a fresh wound. Old dried wounds I don’t use honey, and I just treat it like wood fill.
Mega preesh for the tips bro!
I second the zip ties and honey on the open wound.
Strech wrap would work too
Thanks for chiming in @Caligurl and @Bigduckwacker.
My three pennies if it’s going to rain heavy chop the broken parts before
Other why’s if the weather is going to be good honey and I’m more of a trashbag & duck tape guy
Don’t get scared now let it ride
So theirs a penny for your thoughts and my two cents
Here is what I did for the heavy tops
No fear here.
The worst of the storms are over and tomorrow will be the last of the rain. Nothing else has broken or gotten worse but half of the plant is definitely droopy with more leaves turning yellow and the sigmas darkened than the other half.
The garden looks amazing! You definitely filled out the side of the house. Those are some major green looking buds too. I see it inspired a new paint job on Rose too. Looks sweet! So what’s her name now?
That’s ain’t rose I must of hit that one with my thumb it belongs to a grandpa and granddaughter that are restoring it
I’ve just been helping find parts
I like to use teflon tape to fix broken branches. Got that tid bit from @plumbdand . works great for me.
@Mr.Mr.Limelight Why is your 2 cents always worth a dollar?
I thought Bluster was gonna make it through the last bit of rain and then the bottom fell out of the sky.
I’ve spent 10 hours wet trimming the busted parts. He’s still got 4 or 5 branches left on him but because I didn’t have anything to tie to but him and the bag. Dominoes!
Still a heap of daytime smoke. So no biggie.
So Rose is still Rose…ok. Well sis wanted me to tell you she wanted to buy that ride when she gets her book money. At least all of y’all have taste.
She also wanted to know which tea bubbler you told her about that was reasonable?
@W.B.elpaso thanks for tip brother. Anything that works for you and @plumbdand is good by me.
