Thank you both for explaining to me ![]()
@Littleflowerbud A grow shop in Parma Ohio has the best prices on HLG’s. It’s called “The Indoor Gardener.” They have a website, but it sucks. You’ll have to google him and call him.
Nice guy, really helpful. Great prices.
@NeoGroR Oh really that’s kool. Is Parma Northern Ohio? I’m in Southern Ohio. Honestly I’m curious what people think about the Mars Hydro TS1000…I want results from someone who uses one.
I’ve seen several people who use Mars Hydro lights. From what I’ve seen they seem satisfied with them. Just can’t remember who they are. You can use search feature just type in Mars Hydro, you will probably find multiple post about them.
Yes, northern Ohio. You’ll be happy to know, HLG is an Ohio company.
Check out a website “coco for Cannabis” they have some reviews and tests on the Mars TS series.
Also check out a YouTube channel called Migro. He has bunch of light tests. He’s also a manufacturer but his tests are honest.
I’m on my very first grow. I’ve read a ton on lighting. Whenever I think I want to try something different, I always come back to HLG. Simply because of what it’s giving me.
Also, I think the TS 1000 will only flower a 2x2 area.
If you were going to go with the Mars TS series, look at the TSL 2000 for your space. And you’ll probably want another TS 1000 to help it out.
That company Migro just came out with a light called the Aray. It might do ok for a 3x4 area. Lots of options.
Yes I knew I’d need 2 for my area with the TS1000. I honestly will not be able to afford an $500 HLG light.
@NeoGroR here is mine under cheapo lighting…I worry it wont give much at all. I know I need to update very soon.
@dbrn32 ok thanks , i was thinking the same with the 100 Lm/Watt thing
will check out power next,
tks again good idea ![]()
The Migro lights probably pretty good. He got the bar razed on him by one of the light tested and that’s why he came out with a new light. Didn’t seem over priced either.
As long as they are same series and wired in parallel.
Its was an impulse buy. Thanks, I’ll be able to make a HLG-260 r for $180
HLG website coupon code dude, 10% off
Hey @dbrn32, are there any less expensive options other then the 550r that would give me the same results? Looking to use a 3x3 tent, for veg and flower. Or would pulling trigger on a 550 be my best bet? Thanks in advance
Hlg-550 is bigger light than you need for a 3x3. Most would do a 260 kit.
I have 2 260 kits in mine. The Best part about starting with one kit is that you can add one down the road.
My flowers are amazing because of the 260 kit. This is my first grow and I have a tent full of beauty
Am I looking for this?
Which driver should I select, looks like I have a choice between two.
Flowers look tight man, looking forward to seeing that kind of results here
You could get by with either. I think the hlg is more expensive driver, xlg should run with a little more power. I don’t really like the bottom potentiometer on the xlg though.
So you, @dbrn32, would suggest the hlg, is that able to be dimmed? I have between $7-750 for lights. I’d like to get the 550r but that’s $100 north of my budget. I mean, I was planning on getting a 6” ac infinity exhaust and a 6” infinity fan for intake so I can pull fresh air from inside my house vs the air in my basement (where the tent will be residing) I’m not a fan (no pun intended) of the air down there it’s extremely dry, under 30% most of the year, until around Now-September then it shoots up to 70%. I guess I’m just worried about air exchange. I could be wrong but when I think basement I think stale musty air.
However, if I drop the extra 6” intake I would have the dough for the 550r, would love your thoughts.
