Hello guys happy 2026 grow season we are off to a rough start weather wise going from 70 to below freezing back and forth. I managed in one day to sunburn and frost damage my plants so thats pretty impressive. But we are ahead of schedule and should be outside within two weeks. But you never know in the fingerlakes of NY.

I recognized the structure in the back ground right after i posted that “in ground” . i remember your trees from last year. I like to do some lst training to help out on size and shape.

I try and get my trellis netting and training started early. The trellis net has 8ft stakes on the corners and by the time the plant is full grown she could have 8-12 layers of trellis net. I use 5ft × 5ft sections of net. Here are a couple from early last year

I got a little rant today, for all the “grove bag” users.
Ive been using grove bags since my first grow 5 years ago. My last purchase was last fall for harvest time. There no good anymore. The ziplock on the bags comes loose after just a couple times opening and closing them. Just like most " good companies" they have gone cheap! I buy mine straight from the grove bag.com company. I thought it was a fluke thing, but its not. They are all crap now. Just beware if you plan on buying some grove bags to use, they will not last if you plan to open and close them. ive switched to canning jars, no more grove bags for this guy.

Had the exact same issue. Bought Boveda bags as well and they did the same.

Well that sucks. I have not bought any in 3 years or so…right when they added the double ziplock. I have been reusing them 2 or 3 times a year. I have been very happy. I am disappointed that they cheaped out on the ziplock.

I strictly use glass jars. I buy gallon jars from a company called uline and I’ll use old pickle jars.

Ya, i here that. Price goes up, quality goes down. Gotta love technology… im with @plumbdand and switching to jars. Im gonna be using totes to cure in this year. Easy to monitor, and everything is reusable. I do like the grove bags for curing. But i have found that nothing beats a proper drying. Ive been leaving mine too moist when i bag em, or jar em up. Anyway, happy growing. Hope you get better quality bags than i did this last order.
