Don’t worry about those bottom leaves. A plant will naturally shed them as it matures.
The tops are in good condition. 5-weeks in flower just got in Jacks 321. First time using it don’t want to miss use.
Monitor runoff PPM and keep it around ~1,000.
I have a ph pen. Not sure about what ppm is
PPM = parts per million. It is a measure of the nutrient concentration. Managing PPM prevents over or under feeding.
You’ll need a scale and TDS Pen Grow Bro, scale to measure the recommended dose and the the TDS pen to check the input PPMs and run off
You want to water until you’re getting a “runoff” from the bottom. Compare runoff numbers to watering numbers. What happens if you dont is a build up of nutrients that will start burning your roots at the bottom. There is a natural tendency for the lower leaves to die off as the plant ages. Just keep an eye on it. If begins to progress higher and higher you’ll need to flush. I just went through this.
I am looking into it now thanks bro
What type soil are you in?
Coast of Main. Stonington Blend
So I watered with 6.20 ph. Which is what I generally set it at and run off is 5.62.
Watered at 6.20 ph runoff is 5.62
Are you leaving your runoff water in the drain pan and allowing it to soak back up? Just asking because of the buildup around the base of the pot. If so, I suggest discarding the runoff after feeding.
No. I use pots with bottoms. With a runoff tray under that. It can’t get back in
With this thought. I wonder if the bottom is holding water that should be runoff
Aka “defoliation” watch how much you water. Dont let your plant sit in a try of water. Overwatering can cause your plant to look like it has a deficiency, let it dry out for a couple of days before adding any nutes. If you do, you could run the risk of burning your plant. Also, when a plant experiences nutrient lockout, it wont be able to access certain nutrients. Check your soil ph and your water ph. I set my water at 6.4 bc I use organics. Organics will make your soil rise. Rain will lower your ph. Use a EC meter and ph meter for water and nutes and another for soil. Also, another saying: bigger roots equals bigger fruits. So dont be afraid to use bigger pots. Im growing in 45 gal pots this year.
Numbers sound totally reasonable. Just keep monitoring it. As you can swe everyone here is eager to help you get it sorted out.
Thank y’all
