Good Friday evening everyone. It’s been a minute or two since I posted. The big girl is just right at 3’ tall. I don’t think I have ever fed her enough. My other two are growing at about the same rate. One of those two is showing signs of magnesium deficiency. The one that isn’t showing signs of deficiency is the one with the copper wire wrapped around a stick. I hope I didn’t jinx myself. I have also done some trimming on them. I want to lollipop them but I’m not sure how much to remove. I heard a third of the plant. I did take a number of the little branches that I know for sure won’t make it to the canopy. I did strip all the leaves off. Here is one I did. What do y’all think? It definitely has plenty of air flow. Also they are 20 days from light flip

As for lollipoping I use my light meter and figure out where the DLI drops off to about 30 or so and I’ll strip everything below that point. Or just clean up around the bottoms and wait until you can see where the buds are not developing and take em off , drawing an imaginary line

Ha you know me and my simple grow, I remove some leaf to allow better air flow and some light, but I don’t lollipop, I smoke even the tiny buds from the bottom of the plant, I believe in aw natural
Sorry my friend can’t be of help, your girls are doing great for first week into flower, got a ton of building to go, can’t wait to see them in 5 weeks

Thank you for sharing this with me. That is how I have been doing it but most everyone says you get more energy to the tops and bigger buds. I’m not going to strip them down as much as some I’ve seen, at least not until they are done. Haha.

What he said @Flitme and what @Crazy81 did as well. I defoliate along the way and stop when I have the light penetration i desire and I automatically take 1/3 of plants vegetation off,but i do a ton of lst also @Flitme

Thank you for sharing. I did more LST on this grow more than ever before. Im pleased with what I did this grow but I’m sure there is room for improvement. I’m slowly but surely getting this gig down. And with all the wonderful advice I know one day I’ll be confident enough to just do it. Have a super weekend

Hey , the clean out looks good. The one lighter in color might be good to check the runoff. Plant may need a little more feed.

I’m growing with roadside organics. I don’t water to runoff. But I agree she looks hungry. Maybe I should top dress with some more bloom? She has grown so fast compared to the other two plants.

I guess I have become lazy with my outdoor grow. I trim off yellow leaves but still leave all those tiny buds for making canna coconut oil.
I do not imbibe, but I have heard my canna coconut oil has made individuals very stoned after 1 brownie or 1 cookie.
I use the instapot recipe and do at least 3 water washes (liquify the coconut oil with water and cool in the fridge, pull out the oil chunk and do it again unitil the water is clear) to remove the yucky tasting stuff.
Just my way but you do you! There is no wrong approach to growing or trimming.
You just find your groove! Carry on.

I’m with you.Top dressing’s will help plant a couple weeks down the road. I usually top dress about three times through bloom with a product called super worm frass.

PS I top dress weekly with 1/4th of the monthly recommended amount. Works great for me to avoid the “Oh firetruck what is wrong” reaction.

What if you have the coconut oil that is liquified right off the shelf? Do you use more cannabis when using the small bottom buds and trim or just what the recipe calls for?

Never tried a liquid form.
The solid form I have will liquify at warm temperatures in our home during summer months.
All I can think is if you want to try and “wash it” cool it in the fridge overnight and see what happens?
If you get an oily hard crust that is the good stuff. The liquid is just the other water soluble compounds.
