risk reward situation. i think the folks at this site are above that kind of shenanigans but i like to believe the best of people. i would feel very sorry for people who would sacrifice their credibility and honor for 5 seeds.

i was only in for 9 months before discharge for bad back. i had huge respect for both drill sergeants and platoon sergeants but iām no dummy. there are still some sadistās in todays army but for the most part they do a good job of weeding them out. most of sergeants are good substitutes for ādadā (leader/mentor role)

Depends on what MOS your around. Most combat PS are all pretty Sadistic in their own way. Itās the squad leaders who are more of the every day ādadā you see. Platoon sergeants just show up when we have formation and would just walk around to find something to chew your ass for. But when you look over at a Supply Sergeant or a paper pusher PS its complete night and day of how a unit or battalion is run. Itās all based on MOS.

absolutely. but almost all do not derive pleasure from abusing the soldiers to get them to do and be what needs to be done. it might look like that, but i suspect most of them put that act on because it is part of the psych training that is going on in taking boys and making them men. when it gets to combat, all that other crap is off, from what iāve been told by my son, there is special relationship for those who face the bullet together.
Ooo and I forgot about the First Sergeantās!!! I had 4 different 1SGās and everyone of them would make you look like a B__CH!!!
