@SilvaBack203 That’s unfortunate, thanks for the heads up. Hopefully there’s something else that can work the same way. Let’s see what Rob says
Yes hope so. He told me when i saw hlg at necann. I wanted to get another 1 also but ended up going with a ac infinity s33
Diablo boards looked to be in stock. Just buy board and heatsink from them and grab the other components wherever is cheapest.
Hey @dbrn32 thanks so much for your response. Im sorry to bother you but I’ll need guidance on this please if you don’t mind guiding me here.
So I’m assuming this would be it correct? The board and the heatsink
The rest of the components are the driver and a potentiometer. What else do I need?
I see these components but no wires
I apologize I know nothing about lights
Thanks for the info @SilvaBack203 appreciate it
@dbrn32 I just remembered the diablo kit I got didnt come with a potentiometer its just the driver with the pot underneath it so I guess I wont need a potentiometer if I can just use the pot. Im just lost on what else I might need to build it.
Depends on what driver you buy really. You can get driver with dimming leads, with built in pot on top, on bottom, pretty much whatever you want.
As far as rest of the stuff goes, just buy the stuff that was included with your other light.
I have one of the meanwell drivers That came with the 260 kits but that one needs a dimming potentiometer hooked up to it. I’m assuming instead of connecting it to a potentiometer I can just connect it to the board? Is that correct?
@dbrn32 the diablo I got came assembled already. So maybe all I need are just the wires since I have driver? Like the black and red wires. I still have some spare ones
Driver for 260 kit is not optimal driver for a diablo board.
As far as putting it together, there’s a ton of different items you can be successful with. Seeing as you have one there already i figured it would be easiest for you to look at the light you have and order whatever is on it. Then you could use as a template to copy.
Once you have board and heatsink, you need driver, hardware, power cord, hookup wire, and whatever you decide to use for connectors. Wagos pictured above work good. So do wire nuts, or you could order fancy waterproof barrel connectors. Makes no difference to me, they all work.
@dbrn32 this is literally how it came. Already assembled with this driver so that’s why I was clueless.
I don’t know the names for the hook up wires and all that. I just dont want to buy the board and heatsink and end up getting stuck with not being able to look up the right components. Like man I dont even know all the components that make an LED light, so you can imagine how clueless I am right now just looking at the one I have trying to make out how many components this is made of. I dont know which name belongs to which component. So if you can hold my hand during this process it would make it easier for me.
So the driver would be a meanwell 200 driver right?
Seeing that there are no wago connectors or anything on this one I have, any idea how I can just imitate this?
Being a complete noob and trying to figure out the names of the correct components, I feel like I might not end up ordering the right stuff. Man this is causing me stress I think it might be easier for me to buy something already setup if it comes down to that. Im just completely ignorant when it comes to all this excuse me
I get that, but you can still look at it, right?
Power cord get something like 16/3 replacement cord as long as you need. Or a 16/3 outdoor extension cord and cut it as long as you need.
Hookup wire i would use 18awg solid, make sure insulation is rated for 300v or 600v. Available on Amazon here, but home depot etc won’t have it.
You need something to connect one wire to another wire. It doesn’t matter what, as long as it’s rated for the load. That’s all you need to imitate, and there is probably 100 ways to do it. Look at place that is easiest for you buy from and search “electrical connectors”. Then see what peaks your interest. If nothing you can always default to using wago, wire nut, or even something like a butt splice. You have made these same connections with your other equipment plenty, no need to make it complicated.
If you figure out what kind of dimming you would prefer i can find you other drivers. Or just type in model number on that one xlg-200-h-a. Google provided about 15 hits, I’m sure at least one of them have in stock.
@dbrn32 thank you so much Rob. I really appreciate this. I have a test in 30 mins I’ll finish it and come back to search for all this and try to get things together and order them. If I get stuck I’ll tag you here. Thanks again my friend!
Update:
Ak-47 turned out to be an autoflower lol so shes flowering right now id say shes in week 2 now
The gdp and dt x c99 are finishing up week 6 of veg today and the nl is halfway through week 6
I’ll flip them once I have the second light in there. I might be in trouble for height by then
Great information been shared
@dbrn32 So I was able to get my hands on a Diablo kit from HLG and its coming in tomorrow. Thanks so much much for all your help sir.
Since its going to be here tomorrow I decided to flip them 2 days ago. The Northern Lights is gone. It was too small to keep it in there and wasnt going to give me much so no need to waste the space and light. Cleaned up the rest to get them ready for flowering
Update
