These microscopes can be used handheld at low magnifications if your hand is steady, but a mechanical holder becomes increasingly necessary as magnification increases. @Audiofreak’s solution is creative and versatile.

At high magnifications, tiny variations in distance from the subject have big effects on focus because the depth of field is tiny. A mechanical holder lets you get the distance perfect while eliminating shake.

Definitely looking into one in the future. It’s a b!tch to get a clear photo with these skakey hands and the fans. Lol

Lol. I’m laughing at the comparison not that you’re Shakey. Just wanna clarify.

I feel it though man. Like idk if it’s an underline issue or if I just have 0 steadiness but I can’t steady for anything. I know my mom has onsets of Parkinsons so I’m watching out for that.

But yeah just wanna work smarter not harder ya know?

I use my off hand to hold the bud and support end of the scope and my dominant hand to hold the scope the thumb to work the focus. Even if you do shake or the wind is blowing 30mph the bud, scope, and hands all shake together and you get a pretty clear view.

Very smart way to go about things glitch. Work smarter not harder right? I really appreciate the valuable advice! I’m going to try it when I get home. Haha
