I bounce around. I’ve done the 2/2/2/1.2 MKP flower mix and also Jacks Blossom Booster with Finish.

I add epson at 1/2. Was going full dosage until I started reading that epson wasn’t needed with jacks

I was under the impression that the epsom is needed for the magnesium, but this is my maiden voyage into Jack’s.

I’ve always used epson with any nutrients I’ve tried but have seen a lot of chatter lately on it not being necessary with jacks 321

I’ve always used calmag from biotech, but I’ve also always used f.f. line of products, from soil on down to their nutes. After countless hours leering at this forum, I finally decided to go to coco. So far, so good. Fox farm soil is all over the map. And I got tired of paying for water in my nutes. If I can get the Jack’s parts a & b dialed in, I anticipate buying the 25 pound bags of both, and probably having enough nutes to last the rest of my life/growing days.

Using Jacks for general gardening for plants other than cannabis omits the Epsom. Perhaps this is where deleting the Epsom idea comes from. But the cannabis schedules all call for the magnesium from Epsom.
You can probably get by without it but probably is detrimental in some way.
I have great success with the original formula. I grow in coco for the most part. Couldn’t get to the hydro store this round and going happy frog and while the plants look good they are nowhere near as fast growing or as big as coco gets them.

I switched from FF soil and neuts due to the Ph issues i expieranced (willing to blame my inexpierance) however after going to Roots Organic and jacks NO MORE ISSUES! 4 effortless, issueless grows with improved quantity, improved quality, taste and aroma. Cant ask for more than that.

Like many others here I switched from FF trio to Jacks 321. I use a reservoir to feed and Hacks makes it easy so it takes out the guess work. My water goes through an RO Buddy. I also use MKP you the last 3 weeks or so.

CalMag maybe because of Epsom Salt? I don’t know if CalMag can simply replace Epsom Salt. Composition of each is beyond my pay grade.

I haven’t deleted epson entirely only reduced. A lot of research going around on this. Pretty sure @AfgVet is starting a run with jacks and no epson??

@Auto11 it is not necessary to feed less than 100% solution mix at the beginning. I feed full strength Jacks from day 1

Yup, OG is correct. Mattybear and I have been following GreenGenes on YouTube. Go and watch his videos.
Jacks does not need the addition of epsom salt if you run a slightly different recipe.
In veg it’s 3grams Part A to 2 grams Part B
In flower run 4 grams part A 2 grams Part B
I also feed 2ml Tribus Original/ gallon once a week.
This is all I’m using for the grow right now. I’ll remove Part B and add 1 gram of Calcium Sulfate/gallon for the last couple of weeks.

Interesting. The veg formula is basically Jack’s 321 feed schedule ratios at reduced PPM. And, without the Epsom.

In some ways it is kind of like where I have come to. 100% Jack’s is more than a lot of plants need or can uptake. Going in between 50 & 75% seems to work for me. Now looking at it, the average of those two comes to 66%. Hmmmm
During flower I make up with the lower % by supplementing with Advanced Nutrients bud enhancers.
I should clarify that I still use Epsom Salt. And I use at 100% even if A & B are at lesser amounts.
