It's tax refund time how much LED light can $1k buy

@OldSkunk here you go. It covers a 4x6 grow well but I built the frame to the foot print I needed.

Yep that’s the one I’ve seen before. I like it.

If you are pretty good at Fab it will take you 8-10 hours to build it… depending on how many beer/smoke breaks you take lol

I actually have a 4 x 6 grow area, so 24 sq ft. The flower rm is actually 6 x 7. I found out early on that 10 plants is as much as I could deal with.

Also, this is rapid’s 4x4 kit but they sell it with the 185 driver. I upgraded to the 320 which would probably burn down a 4x4 tent…jus sayin to remove all liability lol

Don’t see a link in the post @Daddy

My bad, I thought you said 4x5. Perhaps that was a different project I was working on.

You still don’t need 1000 watts.

I just have the plants squeezed in a 4 x 5. It’s actually a 4 x 6 area @dbrn32

Ahhh, I see now. I still like 3 bars of 50 watt cobs. I’d have to go check voltages to be sure if they’ll fly with the 50 volt cobs, but I think an hlg-240 will run 5 of most of them. You said you have a lot of height right? You could throw reflectors on them if you were worried that it’s not enough.

I didn’t put in a link because they aren’t an affiliate. But it’s rapid led. You can look them up and some of their diy kits.

Oh don’t get me wrong. I like the idea of 750 watts if it can cover the area. Less power usage on the solar and less heat so win/win. I’d like to use the whole 4 x 6 so I can experiment with growing decent autos on one side of the area. So far Northern Lights is all I can get right. I want blueberry. Sorry got off on a rant. I have 7.5 ft height.

No big deal, rant on my friend! I think you could do it, and very well at that. Lemme go check those driver voltages.

Well shot my wad a little early on that one, it’s a few volts short of being able to fit that 5th cob.

If you don’t mind, lemme see if I have the time to go through all of the citizen data sheets tomorrow. The 1818 doesn’t fit, but I may be able to find something with 1812, or a different model that will jive. It just takes a lot of attention to make sure I get it right, and I’m kinda buzzed right now.

Rapid has 5 light kits…you could cheat a little and peek? Lol

5 lights not the problem, getting most for money out of them. The hlg-320 will run 5 of any of the 50 volt cobs, but it leaves almost a whole cob worth out voltage out there. Same story with the hlg-240.

Any idea off top of your of head what voltage the vero holders are rated for?

5 of the vero c’s will fit on hlg-240h-c700. But driver output is 357 volts.

Which brings me back to the earlier question. Would it not be better to have a little more than I need as far as drivers go? I think that came up a while ago in your DIY thread.

The 320 will run 5 Vero29s at 63w i think. And the 480 will run 75w. But that is an expensive driver and not really worth it. But I really never spent a lot of time looking at the smaller veros

Oh and that’s at 1750ma I think. You would probably need a 2100ma if you went with the 480?
