Thank you @Caligurl . Definitely looking at options for procurement. I might tag you later when I get my hands on some for help and advice. I appreciate you jumping in here.

@Darran If you are close to the Oregon border, we have 190 proof in our liquor stores.

Thanks @merlin44 , unfortunately, not close. I’m about 15 minutes from The Mouse Ears and about 2 hours from the Mexico border. I’m currently looking at some non-denatured ethanol shipping avenues for 200 proof. I might still get some of my buddies at the hospitals that I used to work at order me some. Fingers crossed.

When I first started making my own edibles, I would have never thought finding the alcohol would be the hard part :joy:. I live in Md and when I need to resupply ,DC is close and they have it.

While some may find it more appealing to the nose I think there is a purpose to additional oils/extracts. I’m only guessing, but I think peppermint oil helps penetrate the skin and something adding heat is probably to relax joints and muscles. I’m sure someone else posting here knows more about it.

Good news, I have someone who is coming from Texas in a couple of weeks. So since he is driving, he will bring two 1.75 liter Everclear at 190 proof with him. That should be a good start to see how it goes. Thanks to everyone who jumped in here. I sincerely appreciate you all.

If you like this method, you should look into a system that can reclaim the alcohol while reducing the wash to wax. A couple of runs and you will need another delivery :joy:. I use about 10 to 12 oz of alcohol to fill a 16 oz mason jar filled with bud to cover the weed. If this is a one time run then no need to reclaim. I make wax once a month for my edibles and use a Source Turbo to reduce the wash and reclaim the alcohol. Over a few years it paid for itself in not needing to buy alcohol as often. Good luck on your journey :+1:.

One such system is the Torr Kitchen vacuum still, which I have. Another would be the Source Turbo.

That device is in my future :folded_hands:. For me to process 10 oz of wash in an ST takes 4 hours. Your machine can do 4 times that in a quarter of the time. I wish I waited on the TORR but I got my moneys worth so no regrets.

I have heard many folks saying much the same thing. For those that don’t want or need the additional capacity, the Source Turbo is an excellent choice.

My uninformed sense is that the Torr Kitchen system is more technical to operate (not at all difficult) while the Source Turbo is more or less canned and automatic.

Tam and I use Lebanese to make cream for arthritis. People seem to want more? She has arthritis and it works for her. Her mom lives in Alberta and she was dead set against cannabis… until she tried the cream. Well now we have to make it for her twice a year. The shea butter and all the other shite is quite expensive. She uses essential oils too like peppermint as well. Its pretty easy to make, but kinda spendy for ingredients. We dont do anything fancy.

I don’t do anything with it but I know AfgVet is deep in this game and makes some hella good stuff.
