i work with isopods, snakes, wondering if isopods would be a sort of beneficial constant nutrient giver as they create airway pockets when digging, they coexist with plants by eating dead or rotting plant matter, and they poop so food for the plant. id imagine you would need to supplement less nutrients because of them but not sure so figured id ask here just kind of curious tbh.

Only thing you gotta worry about with isopods is thinning them out and keeping them fed. If they become overpopulated and dont have enough biomass to consume, they might turn to your plant for dinner. Isopods are excellent for living soil terrariums with reptiles.

Could not have said it better myself. You may have to feed them leaf litter too. Go for it, it may be the new “isopod tech” grow method. Who knows, you may be shipping them to growers more than terrarium keepers. Ha.

I wouldn’t add them until the plant is established. I’ve done red wigglers and they reproduced and les a happy life. So got smart and put them in at seedling stage and plant had all sorts of issues. But may have been a coincidence.
