Can you explain these products to me? What are they used for exactly? I see you said something about it helps break nutrients down, what do you mean by this? it helps break nutrients down, what do you mean by this?
EM is fermented essential microorganisms of probiotic bacteria, yeasts, and fungi. It’s microbial ecology, where beneficial microorganisms work together to break down organic matter to make available nutrition. They also provide protection from harmful species gaining a foothold.
Once activated, it’s good for 6 mos from manufacture date, when purchased online. Making this yourself and super saturating using brown sugar, it’s good indefinitely.
To get around expiration of purchased EM, people make Bokashi as to not waste the money.
Bokashi - When you combine EM with molasses (food source) and inoculate a medium fully over a month+. Once fermented, you then dry and respray with more EM and molasses. Dry fully again. You now have a dry version of EM to add top dressings of amends. This will speed the biodegradation up.
"Thanks for the explanation, bro. I noticed my pH meter was a bit off, recalibrated it and went back to watering with pH 6.2. The buds are developing — I’ll lose some yield but I think it’s gonna be okay. Even though there are still some REALLY burnt leaves and more showing up each day, I think it’ll work out. Maybe the soil salinity is also WAY too high.
